The decade of absolute commercialization, entertainment and consumer behavior controlled by corporations. Everything went to crap except the few breakthroughs in technology available to the masses. I'm watching VH-1 Classics right now just to be reminded how ridiculously stupid mainstream "music" was in that decade but it can't get worse than what we got today.
