3 injured as gun goes off at show
Two women and a 10-year-old girl were struck by fragments when a gun was accidentally fired during a gun and knife show Friday at Gibraltar Trade Center in Mt. Clemens. The three were treated at the scene.

A customer thought the semiautomatic handgun was unloaded and accidentally fired it. The owner took the gun back and inspected it, firing off a second shot, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

The owner of the handgun, a 64-year-old Marysville man, has been banned from any future gun shows at the center. Authorities are reviewing the case to determine whether charges are warranted.

Nothing wrong with taking your kids to a gun and knife show. Teach them to know and respect weapons.

Although, I do have to say the two guys "that didn't know the gun was loaded" both deserve a smack in the head.

Personally, I think they deserve a bit more than that. Probably a few days in jail would be more appropriate.

The reason I say that is that something similar happened to me a few years ago. I was at home when a friend stopped by with a friend of his. His "friend" brought along an old .45 caliber Tommy gun that he'd just acquired from somewhere. We were going to look at it but I was doing something at the kitchen table that needed immediate attention so I turned back to it. Not more than a few seconds later, while the guy was doing something with the gun, it went off a foot or two just behind me. Needless to say I about jumped through the roof. I turned around and the idiot kept saying "I thought it was empty". I almost decked him.

Luckily, no one was injured but since that episode I have no interest in that excuse. You make DAMN SURE there are no cartridges in any weapon you pick up. There is no excuse.

Pervert caught pleasuring himself in slurry for third time

A man found naked in a field amongst cow dung and mud had been sexually pleasuring himself, a court has heard.

It was the same farm he had returned to over a period of seven years.

He was discovered on Saturday by a child of the family on land at Woodbury House Farm, Tolgus Mount, Redruth.

When police officers arrived soon after, they found him covered in a large amount of slurry and mud, in a quagmire, surrounded by tissues.

This is the third time that he has appeared in court for this kind of behaviour.

David Truscott, aged 41, of Pengegon Parc, Camborne, was sent to Truro Crown Court for sentence by Truro magistrates after he pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and to causing harassment to Clive Roth, of the family living on the farm.

Actually, I do have to agree with you. Personally, I feel that they should lose their "Right to Bear Arms" for a year. However, that would raise a huge stink and lead to years of court fights.

I'd have no problem with someone losing their privileges to using guns for a year. Hell, confiscate all their weapons for a year for that matter as far as I'm concerned.

Nowadays, people seem to forget that guns can be extremely dangerous and are not toys. People in the US may be allowed to have them but they should not be allowed to be idiots with them.

I've been handling guns since I was a little kid when my dad bought me my first .22 single shot rifle. He ingrained in me a whole list of things to do when handling a gun and when hunting. And the first thing you ALWAYS do is to stick the muzzle in the air, with your finger off the trigger, and make sure its NOT LOADED! Even if your in a room with 20 people and 19 have already done the same thing. You just don't know if those other 19 are idiots.

Maybe I was just lucky and my dad was a good instructor (which he was). Other people don't seem to be getting the same instruction or, more than likely, they're idiots when handling a gun.
