Fuck summer indeed.

I am a window-opening person as well, though i have to admit that this month i have been considering a (portable) airco... i'd rather not, i like 'real' air, as polluted as it may be.

Max temp here was 33 (and a bit) inside the house. I'm getting tempted to invent rain gods to pray to.

The name rather sums up the whole thing. Obviously someone with serious mental problems. How surprising!

Only in some parts of the country. Very few in the Pacific Northwest. Our weather is the same as Western Europe.

I did see his name but I didn't want to say anything and generalize an entire group of people and religion based on the action of a few.

Was Toronto’s Danforth shooting a symptom of so-called ‘mental illness’ OR was it an ISIS attack linked to one of the largest chemical weapons busts in North American history?

Here is an interesting map of the Swiss institute of meteorology.

Evolution of average temperatures per year from a basis calculated between 1961 and 1990.

More red are the pictures warmer were the average temperatures, more blue, cooler were the average temperatures.

2011, 2014 and 2015 were 2.5°C warmer than the basis average temperature.

About the last observations in 2018.

[B] Drought and Heat [/ B]

Switzerland is currently experiencing the least rainy April-July period in almost 100 years. The lack of rain is accompanied by a record heat that exceeds even that of the year 2003.

I just need to mention.
According to a speech I listened given by a specialist of energetic challenges (Jean-Marc Jancovici), 40'000 years ago, Central Europe was covered of huge glaciers.
The average temperature of the planet was... 5°C lower than the average temperature of the last century.

What could produce a temperature of 5°C warmer than the average temperature of the last century ?

Probably massive extinction, brutal conflicts between people who were good friends in the past.
We will not move 600 million European people with their houses, their cars so easily.

According to Jancovici, if we want a good world for the next generations, it's surely time to take intelligent resolutions now and not in the next 30 years.

We rarely have this kind of units in European private houses. We didn't need it in a recent past. (And maybe still don't need them, because it's only 15 to 30 days per year). You will find them more in big stores or public buildings.
But it slowly appears in more and more private houses too.
That's a problem, because energetically and environmentally speaking, these units are not good.

I still couldn't care less, for me it's just a few extra days holiday

You are enjoying your work situation more than I am currently. I'm in the middle of a two week vacation I scheduled about six weeks ago. Two days before I start my time off the client calls me to tell me that they don't have as much work for my team so they are cutting the contract from five people to two. Passed that up to my manager and two team members were let go on Friday and a third will be let go when I get back from vacation.
