Women are definitely not stupid. On average I would say they are smarter than men. However, and this is a very big "but," they are driven by their hormones and body chemistry. I remember speaking with a working mom who told me she never wanted children, nor did her husband. A few years after they were married her body began demanding she make babies. She went to her husband and offered him the out, but he decided to stick with her and they had a boy and a girl.

Pay no attention to what your friend's wife says. Women love to complain. When they are together it is like a contest to see who has the worst man, or boss, or money problems, or children, etc. Sometimes, we cannot avoid listening to women (especially when living with one - listening for some period each day is obligatory.) It is hard for us because we are programmed to fix problems, but women really need big problems to occupy them. Children are perfect, because they are time consuming and difficult for many years.

I have a huge distaste, can't say hate because then I would have to hunt the bustards down, for all the minorities that now have such power over things like this. There are issues that deserve attention and those that don't. This ain't fecal matter IMO.

Something that does irritate me is Valentines Day, and not because I'm some joyless stick-in-the-mud (although I am) - I think it's great if people want to do nice things for each other, what bugs me is the entitlement.

There are now so many different days of the year that women are told to deem 'special' (which translates as 'special for her', which translates as 'he'd better do something special for her, or he's dead meat') - valentines day, birthday, christmas, anniversary, anniversary of the day you met, and on and on and on. You're lucky if you get a month off. Fortunately my wife isn't too bad about this type of thing (thank god), but that's not the point - the point is that I know that she could be, and nobody would consider it worthy of censure.

If someone gives you a card, you should be grateful. If they don't get you a card, or take you to a fancy restaurant, or whatever, you're not entitled to make their life a misery.

It's not women I'm having a go at, it's the whole industry around it that sets us all up (it's the same for women and the unrealistic expectation of how they're supposed to look because of celebrity magazines etc) - men have to act like Pierce Brosnan in the rom-com or she's entitled to complain, and women have to look like Kelly Brook in the lad's mag or he's entitled to complain. We're all being taken for chumps.

This`ll be my first year single on Valentines for awhile and far prefer it over buying gifts , paying too much at a crowded restaurant and pretending to feign interest at the woman facing me waffling. Waffle which ten times out of ten is either all about themselves or work colleagues they hate.
