FYI, I tried downloading from 1fichier today with a browser as a free user without uBlock enabled and the popups were minimal at most.

They did reply to my complaint saying that they only were doing 2 popups per 15 min but it took them a week to reply.

I'm thinking that my complaint made them realize that they f'd up and they fixed it.

I don't understand all of other file hostings have cc payment as default but 1fichier doesn't have.

Try downloading some Fichier files and find out.

As said, credit card companies are distancing themselves from file hosts (read as: they are charging file hosts a huge amount)

Fichier has been fair to free users for a lot longer but need to make revenue to survive like any other company.

it's been a long while since i used it but as I remember the first download is comparable with say wetransfer for speed, fairly fast but then there is a significant waiting time before you can do another as a free user and that is also much slower. As BCFC says try some and then report back. You seem to be very good at asking people to use a filehost which is most convenient to you.

I tried again. Turned off uBlock for 1Fichier in Firefox and I still get the message to turn off my adblocker, along with the shady popups.

The message will not prevent you from downloading so adblockers do not need to be turned off.

This has already been pointed out in previous posts.

It does. I know what I'm writing about. No matter if I have uBlock turned off or on, I click on download and the page simply refreshes.

Maybe try a browser without the ublock/adblock plugin? I tried Opera w/o adblock and it worked, Chrome and FF with disabled adblock failed.

Not working for me with Adblock Plus disabled in Firefox, I even disabled Adblock for Facebook, and still unable to download as free/unregistered user.

Edit: same goes for Chrome browser, no matter what I try, I am unable to download the file as free/unregistered, but when I use Opera (without any extensions or blockers) I get ads and pop ups but I can download the file.
