I just reread the U.S. Constitution. I doubt that the courts would go along with the "national emergency" ploy. The document explicitly states that it is Congress that decides policy and allocates funds. The President does not have the legal right to override Congress and divert funds where ever he likes.

By the way, Mitch McConnell has written resolutions decrying Trump's decision to remove our Troops from Syria and Afghanistan.which passed with almost universal support from Republican senators. This and other defections indicate that Trump is rapidly losing his grip on the Senate. Even Fox News has started to pile on.

If it wasn't for double standards, Democrats like Pelosi wouldn't have any standards at all. I don't hear too many religious leaders calling her and the other democrats out for that level of blatant murder.

I think it is very common for people to confuse their opinions with religious principle. It is a variant of the sin of arguing that God is on your side - that is a sin and a very bad one. It is for us to be on God's side, not the other way around; assuming obviously that you believe God exists, which I suspect very many of these ostentiously religious politicians don't believe anyway. Sarah Sanders is guilty of that very big sin when she says she believes God meant Donald Trump to be president - she thinks God is on her side, when it is for her to be faithful to God by honouring and observing the teachings of her professed faith, a thing she does not do. if she were genuinely and sincerely a Christian, she could not serve in Donald Trump's administration, which has flouted all standards of fairness, honesty and integrity, showed no love, no understanding, no humanity and no pity.

The separation of church and state is not only written into the First Amendment; it was also taught by the Man himself during his ministry on earth.

Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar; and render unto God that which belongs to God.

Remember that one?

I take this to mean that while we must try to be moral in our conduct we must also not involve God in our political disagreements.

We British are openly scornful of politicians who make a song and dance of their religion - rightly so. Hypocrisy at this level does not sit well with us.
