Smile Padma Lakshmi minus paint

@bardock - your three images of Miss Laksmi are completed and shown below. There were more than a few problems with these, the first being that I had to buy a container of paint remover. I knew of the cross on the last one and found the mask on the second, but didn't see the stripe on her face on the first until I was ready to color. As requested by [Milkman] I removed all paint from her body on all of these pictures. Then, to add to the troubles, my system was infected with a Trojan which kept me from working for almost a full day. It was the hardest one I've ever dealt with but was finally defeated. Let me know if you want anything changed on these.

1122 colored since 23 May 2010

@spazarino - your two images are next in line and should be completed in a day or less.

Okay, okay, okay! Just remember this is a voluntary task I'm doing and it was originally a coloring only thread. It was my work and a request to the moderators which allowed the off-topic work on images to modify something that was already colored.

@spazarino - your two images, one modified and one colored, are completed and shown below. Let me know if you think anything should be changed. Note: I haven't forgotten your three pictures of Miss Scott, still in process of being completed.

1123 colored since 23 May 2010

@[Milkman] - three more of Miss Doss are next in line and should be finished in a couple of days.

@bardock - I'm not sure if I can accomplish what you have requested. I'll try and we'll see what happens.

As some are won't to say.."Awwwwww yeah!!"

Great job! But I have a question...WHEN DO YOU ACTUALLY WORK??

Seriously...you do FAR too much work on these pics in too short a time and too well to actually have a job!

I have 4 more to go...3 of them other pics of Spencer Scott from the same shoot (but, as I've said before, if they're too much of a problem, I'll withdraw them) and another panty removal...although that one might present a little more of a challenge.

Edit: I just noticed, on comparing the 2 versions, that not only did you smooth out the leg where the panties were and clean up the shading (which I expected), you ALSO removed the lamp you could see between her legs. Thanks! Definitely removes that visual distraction (which I hadn't even seen before, since the panties were in the way)

Pics attached for comparison.

Actually, what you are seeing here IS my work. I retired several years ago and was happy to find this thread to do something on as I'm not pleased to sit around with no assigned tasks. I spend between four and eight hours each day/night working on these pictures and I'm hoping someone out there likes them.

Smile Color analysis and tutorial

The following is a short tutorial on the color systems used in your computer and also applicable in many real world systems.

There are three color systems in common use, the first is Hue, Lightness, and Saturation (HLS); the second is Red, Green, Blue (RGB); and the third is Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and optional Black (CMY or CMYK). I'll discuss each of these separately though there is a common ground between the last two.

The Hue, Lightness, and Saturation system (HLS) defines a color as degree of location on a color wheel from 0 to 359, then a saturation which is the intensity of the color, and finally a lightness which will fade any color between white and black. The colors defined run from red, at 0, to green, at 120, and blue, at 240, then back to red, at 360. This is shown in the first diagram below which also shows all the other colors made by mixing the various shade when going around the wheel, see the second diagram for a more definitive listing of the colors and their location. The third diagram shows the full set of options which is often shown as two cones joined at the middle with white at the top and black at the bottom at the extents of the lightness axis, see the fourth diagram. Since it is difficult to show all the way through a three dimensional figure, it's easier to display slices of the cones in a diagram as in the fifth diagram.

The Red, Green and Blue system (RGB) is used when additive color systems are desired as when different color lights are projected to give a mix. The basic additions are shown in the first diagram below. You will note that red and green mix to give yellow, green and blue mix to give cyan, blue and red mix to give magenta, and all three mix to give white. This is easily shown to be true in the second diagram which shows three light of different colors projected on a white wall. The most common use which you probably see every day is a television screen which, when viewed through a magnifying glass, appears like the third diagram. Those three colors, when mixed together at different intensities, will display all the colors you are used to seeing in nature. It's also true that the vision system in your eyes uses a mix of the same three colors to transmit the outside world to your brain.

The Cyan, Magenta, Yellow system (CMY or CMYK) is used when subtractive colors are desired and are most commonly found in the mixing of pigments you have probably done in art classes in school. Another application you have all probably seen is a computer printer which uses these three color inks and another black ink to print images in all colors on white paper. Note that these inks (except for black) are all transparent to allow each other to show through as well as the white background. There is a close relationship between the RGB and the CMY system as shown in the following two diagrams.

Since [MilkMan] was responsible for starting this discussion and he has said he uses the same drawing program which I use (Micrografx Picture Publisher), I'm going to give a few illustrations which show the practical applications of this data using that software. First, be aware that I am partial to the HLS system though to be honest I started out favoring the RGB system. First, a diagram which is the color picker box which is shown when you double click on a color box. This box allows you to modify any color in any of the three systems shown by the columns labeled HSL, RGB, and CMYK. In the HLS (HSL) system, the Hue can be any number from 0 to 359 (representing a location on the color circle) and the Saturation and Lightness both may be any value between 0 and 100. Any value in the RGB or CMYK system can be between 0 and 255, where 0 is no appearance of this color and 255 is as intense a color as you can create.

This color picker box shows a color of green, represented by a value of 120 in the Hue, a fairly intense color shown by 54 in the Saturation, and a dark color shown by the 11 as the Lightness. Please note that when coloring a picture in this software, the Lightness does not affect the drawing as it uses the density of the image at each point to provide this number. This color picker box was taken from the green sweater in the first image of Miss Doss discussed in the next paragraph.

I'm using four images of Miss Doss to show some of the colors used. The first one, in the green sweater, uses the green color shown above. Note that since the sweater was quite dark in the original image, any light (low saturation) color would be mostly covered up by the blackness and would only slightly show on the picture, therefore I used a fairly saturated color. The color picker box shown here is for her hair color. Note a color of 34 which is just past orange (at 30) going toward yellow (at 60), and has a low saturation since I didn't want her hair to glow with a highly saturated color. The second image shows her in a dark sweater which I decided to do in red (color 1, almost an exact red at 0) but is highly saturated at 93% since the sweater was a very dark, almost black. You may note that there are several places where the color appears lighter because I overlaid the red sweater with a light transparency of skin color to indicate where the skin shows through the thinner parts of the sweater. The third image shows her in a dark blue dress with a color of 227 (almost blue but a slight amount of green) and a saturation of 100%. Again the saturation was necessary to show up over the almost black of the original dress. The fourth image is a change of pace, showing her in a white shirt and light blue jeans. The color picker is for the jeans and shows a color of 235 (almost blue with a small amount of green) and a saturation of only 15%. Since I wanted a light blue on this application, I deliberately created a low saturation color.

I hope all of this has been informative to anyone interested in doing any coloring. Feel free to ask any questions, either in your next post or in a PM.

Another spectacular effort and result, demsal8. Thank you. I will study your tutorial. Is it possible to change the background on the two full body shots? Instead of grey and blue patches, I believe grey and dark grey/charcoal would appear better. I tried doing it myself but it did not look good. Will you give it another try? No changes to Terri's images as both are perfect, just the background.

Pl@ym@t# Echo Johnson was Miss January 1993 for Pl@yb0y magazine. I would enjoy having these two promotional photos of her colorized please. Thank you.

I'm going to leave the Pl@yb0y universe for a moment and travel to its greatest rival for my next request. I enjoy this photo of sexy Penthouse Pet Cheryl Rixon and would love to see it colorized please. Again, thank you.

Dare I ask if you've managed to make any progress on the three Spencer Scott images...or have you already torn out what hair you had??

Smile A couple of reworks

@J7b34bh - I'm getting the idea that you don't really know what you've posted here before. The first one, of Marilyn Ward, was previously done but you resubmitted apparently believing that the new one was significantly larger. When I expanded the old one and rotated it to match the current request I found that there was only about a 3 or 4% difference in size. I started to work on the other by changing the density of the image and was suddenly confronted with a feeling of familiarity so I went looking for a match and found it in this post: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...postcount=1070 The old version is slightly larger than the new request so I'll leave you to your pictures including the new one below.

@uncas22 - your single image of Madonna is next in the list and should be done in a day.
