Some things that the good people here may not have mentioned. Make sure you're not becoming too much like the elderly relatives you spend time with - can be a problem when you spend so much time with them.
Perhaps you are living too much for the future and what you think your life ought to be ( can make you depressed) , embrace the moment and just know that you are good where you are. If I've got my health, I've got everything. |

Have a good look at your dating profile-or better still-get someone else to look for you. If there's anything that even hints at desperation, remove it. The odd touch of humour here and there will do you a lot of good. Try various different profile pictures until you find one that brings a good response-maybe get photos professionally done (but try not to make them look staged). When you get some dates, go out and have a good time. Again, avoid sounding badly done to. Get a few funny stories that you can tell and do your best to give the lady a good time. Make the initial meet an informal hour over a drink or coffee. Leave the full night out until a few dates down the road. Going the cinema or to see a show or a band is good because you don't then have to come up with a full night's worth of conversation. And you can talk about the film (etc) anyway.
