If you could remake, rework ,redo or create any film ever with any cast, director or budget , ever ?.
Last weekend i had to sit across from somebody who thought the remake to Arthur was better than the original
It`s alright don`t worry, i`ve been having counselling to cope with the shock ever since Yet it occurred to me, what if you could make any film you wanted Put whoever you wanted in it (Alive , dead or Keanu Reeves) , in any position (Calm down) you felt right etc. What would you do Since this is the first (And maybe last) post for this thread topic i think i`ll chose a total tax write off remake. Let`s remake a horror classic. The Blob Budget officially listed at 3 million, but actually three hundred thousand Hmmmm who is American (As write off or not better seem like i`m trying) yet barely known anymore and hasn`t worked for years So might be willing to accept loose change and a possible percentage of the net profits as payment How about these "Actors" for the main roles of, Steve Andrews Lt. Dave Jane Martin Sgt. Jim Bert Dr. Hallen Plus as the kick arse Blob. Oh and the film score to be provided by the Hammer Exactly. This bastard bomb should drop so hard it`ll make the one that landed on Hiroshima seem like a cream egg Oh and to guarantee that i`d direct ,write and produce the bugger myself

OK, I've really had this in my head for a time now. A remake of Casablanca. And I'm serious in my casting choices.
Christian Slater as Rick Blaine. Jean Reno as Capt. Renault Jude Law as Victor Laszlo (or Ralph or Joseph Fiennes) Jurgen Prochnow as Major Strasser Joss Ackland as Ferrari Steve Buscemi as Ugarte Jamie Foxx as Sam (he can play the piano and sing "As Time Goes By") I bog down on casting Ilsa. I need to cast a very good looking young-ish (say, 24-28) European actress, but I just don't know any. It would be practically a straight re-make. I'd only change three things: When Ilsa calls Sam "the boy playing piano," just call him the piano player. The Letters of Transit signed by DeGaulle, "not to be challenged." sure, like the Germans gave a shit about DeGaulle. At that point, the Allies really didn't give a shit about DeGaulle. And when Rick tells Ilsa "Someday, you'll understand." OK, you're letting the love of your life go, you don't have to be a patronizing prick.

It's not that I don't like him, because he doesn't seem disagreeable. But he's not a convincing action performer, at least not for me
So I'd kill Jason Statham in the first minutes of the first scene of all his action movies, and let someone else take the lead. You see, I want him to get a paycheck, but don't want to see his acting Any suggestions for who to replace him? |

I think Elvis would have been awesome in Boogie Nights instead of Mark Wahlberg. Maybe Ann-Margaret in place of Julianne Moore, but that's it. Otherwise this film is perfect.

I`d love to be able to rework this top film,
Wouldn`t change anything though. Apart from replacing the sideways smirking pain between the cheeks lead. I think he`s the weakest player in the film. Oddly enough for the sequel i felt he was the strongest. Or maybe that`s because everybody else in part 2 was far weaker than in the first film ?. Either way i`d replace Bruce for Kurt. Just my opinion but i find him five times the actor and ten times more likeable.

It would have been better with Goodman --or John Belushi. Much funnier.

I've always though there was a certain something off in the 1974 classic Sometime Sweet Susan one of those coming of age movies in the vein of American Graffiti.
But the leading man just isn't up for the task. I would replace Harry Reems with You got it. Elvis. Oh and i'd change the entire soundtrack. It sucked. Having Elvis could only help. I also thought Rainman could have been a lot funnier if they recast Dustin Hoffman. With Chris Rock I can't believe Hollywood missed out on that one. Lastly, I think Estreeter is correct on P.W. Herman. I also think Herman would have been exemplary in "GoodFellas" in place of Joe Pesci.

Re. Gladiator,I'd remake the ending.Commodus defeats the grievously wounded Maximus but is forced by the crowd to spare Him,In a fury He returns to the palace where His sister Lucilla announces that She is now willing to have His child. She suggests He take a bath first ,Giving Him a drugged goblet of wine.Once the drugs take effect,She brings in a trained wrestler Who throttles the comatose Emperor(This is how the real Commodus died,It was His Mistress Marcia, who arranged His demise though)Lucilla then lives happily ever after with the recovering Maximus. The End.
