How did you discover what was REALLY meant by the 'Birds & the Bees' as a youngster growing up?

How did you discover what was really meant by the 'Birds & the Bees' as a youngster growing up? I'm not talking about the first time you 'planted your seed drill' -that's already been asked here. I'm talking about the time or times you came to comprehend the 'secret of life' i.e. that babies did not arrive by stork or were dug up from the cabbage patch.

It might be interesting to hear how you originally imagined babies arrived if you didn't know the facts & how you imagined the process started too. Did the truth surprise you or was it a kind of 'Eureka!' moment which you kind of knew you knew but didn't know how you knew.
