That's a commonly huge misconception. Not believing in a God dose'nt mean not believing in anything. I would say most non believers believe in empirical evidence, humanity, logic and reason.

I don't even except the concept of atheism. Not believing in something that doesn't exist is not a thing.

Sirch is absolutely right! Unbelievers just don't believe god claims. That's it. That's all. Beyond that they may believe anything at all but the chances are nothing that cannot be proven. Personally I try not to 'believe' anything unless it's something like 'I believe I've lost my car keys down the back of the settee' because I prefer to know if I can. i.e. Belief where belief is necessary guesswork & I see no reason why it's remotely necessary to guess if there's some god when the very folk who claim there is one get into arguments - even wars, about whether it's Catholic or Protestant, Sunni or Shiite etc. then get into conflicts among themselves to say nothing of conflicts with other faith groups. The atheists that I know have cried out "Oh God", "Jesus!", "Crikey!" more often than any believer that I know of. Maybe they're just true believers in denial.

It is my belief that belief is over rated.

The existence of God is independent of anyone's belief. If He is real, then your denial of Him could not render Him false. And if he is false, then no matter how much you believe it does not make him real.

Our beliefs only affect our own experience. You can believe that 1+1=7 and convert a whole bunch of people to believe the same but you can't get 7 apples from 1+1 apples without some kind of cheating. You can fantazie and wank as much as you want but it doesn't make the encounters you fantasized any real.

Evidence is also over rated.

If God is real but on an entire different order of existence that is entirely incompatible with what we know, perceive and imagine [He is God after all], then no amount of searching will ever find any true evidence. If your entire world is the desert and that is all you can perceive, know and think about then regardless of your belief you're not going to find any fishes.

God is a matter of faith. Seeking evidence is but a form of denial that wants to replace Him with a miscreation after your own image.
