You say he's a 'fairly good boxer'.......Sadly, I have to agree, but he's only 'fairly good' compared to the dross that has occupied the division for a good number of years. In the Lewis/Holyfield/Tyson era he would have been left comatose on the canvas by any of these guys, in fact it's debatable if he would have made it as a sparring partner for any of the above. I think Joshua's record gives a good insight at the decline of the division, world champ after only 15 fights, Joshua is a nice kid but a very raw kid at that. Technically better than Wilder, but that isn't saying much is it? A peak Lewis, Vitali Klitschko , Wladimir Klitschko, and Mike Tyson would clean up today's entire heavyweight division with consummate ease. |

I went to the Holyfield v Lewis fight in March 1999 in New York and had a great time apart from the ridiculous corrupt decision ( even the Yanks that we met afterwards said ' Lewis won that fight ' - it was that bad )
that was an era when there were decent fighters out there , not now . anyway , for me personally since the 2 Klitschko brothers took over , the division has been really poor for the last 15 years - and Joshua looks half decent , but wouldn't last 2 rounds with Lewis or Tyson in their prime |

I would expect Fury to take Whyte in 10 rounds tonight it's probably going to be the closest we'll ever come to having an all British world HW title fight for quite some time. But it would mean that if Whyte was to win at least one version of the title remains in the UK for a while longer Whether he'll wait around to take on the winner of Joshua Usyk is another matter but would be stunned if he did quit after this one.
