Not that there is anything wrong with this movie at all. I actually loved it. I just thought it was surprising he picked this one out, because he has been in so many good movies.

The Star Wars Prequels

Sure they are not as good as the original trilogy. But i don`t think they are that bad.

I never understood why many hated this movie so much. Sure, it is not as good as the first two movies in this series, but I still enjoyed it. It kind of brings us back to the first movie where they have to fight the Alien without decent weapons, like in the sequel. That is kind of a horrifying thought, and that's why I enjoy this movie.

I even remember watching this as a kid, and then had nightmares as a result of it. I had read the tv-guide for the weekend and noticed that this movie was on late during one night. After my parents went to sleep, I went upstairs and watched it without sound so I would not wake them up. Scary stuff back then!

Tend to include films that unjustly flopped at the box office too ,which that one did. Real shame as Tom Savini showed nice touches of ingenuity and flare in his directorial (Movie I mean) debut. Despite the shit storm of pressures he was put under. He certainly had the chops to be behind the camera. Barely directed anything after Living Dead. The Theatre Bizarre being most recent (2011) . Where his segment in the anthology (Wet Dreams) is the stand out one I believe.

Walter Hill movie would be fantastic if not let down by a handful of things.

1) Script
2) Acting
3) Cast
4) Editing
5) Direction

Concerns a mad surgeon who out of revenge sex changes a completely unconvincingly as a male Michelle (Doesn't so much phone it in here ,as postcards it in) Rodriguez. Who then sets out for her own revenge on everybody involved in what happened to her. Him. Oh whatever. Sure it cost five million all in and maybe that means the actors all worked for scale. Only. Man alive it`s got to be one of the dumbest films ever. Is told in flashbacks and fast forwards with an unhealthy amount of voice overs (Damn do I hate those) thrown in. So much of it lacks all possible logic.
One scene in particular where she walks around a warehouse . Putting down bad guys one after another all within ten or twenty feet of each other, and all of whom are taken completely by surprise. Made it seem more like a comedy. Unless all those henchmen were deaf and lacking peripheral vision. Yeah that must have been the case. Phew , now it makes sense

I know they often say for some films it`s best to leave you brain at the front door. Here you`d be better off leaving it on seat on a plane heading for the other side of the world. Arrrrgh this movie is so stupid so stupid

A beautifully filmed wonderfully acted period piece set in Japan. Has undertones of Apocalypse Now only unlike an officer going into the unknown to find out the truth about an AWOL former army Colonel. Here we had a Christian missionary in search of his teacher after word has been rumored of him rejecting his religion and living now like the Japanese.

There were only a couple of things distracting about the film. The size of Adam Drivers ears

Now Andrew Garfield is no slouch in the large lug department but Drivers put him to shame. When I first saw them felt sure they had to be CGI. Nope they`re real. Man alive and that was seeing them on this laptop screen. How dominating must it have been to see them in the cinema !?!. .. Ahem ... That aside did like this movie

So, yeah, I just don't understand the intense criticism of this installment in the incredible "Mission" franchise.

I rather liked it and thought it was a solid follow up to the first Mission: Impossible.

It had everything -- Explosions, action sequences, a strong plot with depth, cool stunts, a very attractive and energetic female lead, hostile corporate takeover motivation, more explosions, and so on.

Okay sure the motorcycle scene wasn't very "realistic" but can an argument be made that if something is really bitchin' then we can just move beyond the whole "you gotta suspend disbelief" thing and just go along for the ride?

Thandie Newton was pretty cute!

The movie's villain, Shawn, was pretty well-developed too.

I'm just saying that if "Commando" can get a pass, why not show some love for this one too?

Granted ,

It`s a film which in the final third relies pretty heavily on contrivances and is guilty many times of recycling well worn scenes from previous movies. But what the hell. The villain of the piece was delightfully creepy freaky. While those first two thirds are bloody great as is the acting.

Also has the kind of ending I really like

'Play it to the Bone' (1999)

It's a boxing/road movie starring Woody Harrelson and Antonio Banderas as two past-it fighters who are best friends and get a last minute opportunity to fight each other on the undercard of a Mike Tyson fight.

I think the movie basically sunk without trace, it did no real business before or since and got bad write-ups, and it is kinda lame - the boxing action is barely more believable than anything from Rocky IV (you'll lose count of the number of knockdowns), and why is it that boxers in movies are almost always white guys?

But I love it. I've watched it many times, it's one of those movies I used to put on when I was drinking. Woody Harrelson is terrific, there's a pretty funny supporting performance by Tom Sizemore (I don't know what he was on during filming, but I doubt they let him drink any coffee on set), and there's just something fun, stupid, free, and rather sad about the road trip to the fight - two best friends who are on their way to fight each other in the last of last chance saloons.
