I sleep pretty well these days. I did sleep therapy overseen by a medical sleep clinic about eight years ago, and while it was hard slog in the beginning, persevering with it paid off in the long run.

Not too good.
I have a problem with headaches, a lot of them. I rarely sleep more than 3 or 4 hours. On weekends when I should be sleeping as much as I want to, a headache usually wakes me up if not both Saturday and Sunday mornings, at least one of them. That's why I stay up very late Friday & Saturday nights to be exhausted but it doesn't help. Now if the headache wakes me up early enough I can usually take something for it, wait a few hours until can fall back asleep and get up somewhere around noon. But that's not always the case. I always hope that I will be able to take a nap or two the following afternoon to try and catch up. Since I do have such a hard time sleeping, when I come home from work in the evenings I hit the couch for an hour or two. I'm always very tired and I figure that 1 or 2 hours then plus the 3 or 4 at night equal 6 if I'm lucky. I'm a side sleeper. Can't sleep on my back at all. That's why I've never been able to sleep in a recliner or an airplane seat. I've also always used a very thin firm pillow. For 47 years I had the same pillow that my grandmother made for me as an infant. I can't sleep on anything that raises my head up so high or is soft. That's an instant headache for sure. I don't want my face sinking into a pillow. When I sleep on the couch I use an old cushion from a previous sofa that is about 4 inches thick but very firm. I wish I could find a pillow like that to try.

I've recently started taking a Magnesium supplement (Magnesium Citrate) and I've found this helps me to sleep at night. It has many other benefits as well.

I am lucky if I get more than 4 hours of sleep at a time. Most of the time its 2-3 hours at a time and 2-3 times a day. So I get around 8-9 hours in a 24 hour period, its just split into 2 or 3 shifts. Its annoying as I cant do anything because I am only awake for 4-5 hours at a time. I have tried sleeping pills and sleep aids and all types of things but nothing seems to work.
