Rachel Davies
Born: Manchester, Greater Manchester, England
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0203915/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Davies Another who surprises me by not being here. Anyway, Rachel`s been in just about everything there is to be in over the last 30 years or so, possibly best known for her role as Doreen in "Boon" and Pauline in "Making Out" which also starred another favourite of mine, Tracie Bennett. Here is Rachel in a "Tales Of The Unexpected" episode Last edited by Sam Spade; March 9th, 2011 at 06:39 PM.. Reason: Removed dead r/s links |

Meet Your Match, Ladies, in Rachel Davies
.
"The House that Bled to Death" is the fifth episode from the 'Hammer House of Horror' TV series, harking back to 1980. At one point in the goings-on, a newspaper headline refers to the title's haunted house as "Murder House," which was the same nickname that was used in the first season's haunted house from American Horror Story. (This has nothing to do with the tribute to the lady that follows. It was just an observation. What, you're not going to allow me any of those?) When I first noticed the fair damsel who starred in this episode, I immediately thought, there was something very... fetching about her. No, I don't mean in the sense of how, you know, when you throw a ball, and the annoyingly eager-to-please golden retriever with absolutely no self-respect will dash after it and engage in some fetching for you. What I'm referring to were my poor eyes. There they were, vulnerable and unguarded, and she came on the screen, and she fetched them. This was very rude of her, I think, because I really had no say over the matter. (These are my eyes I'm talking about. I value them greatly, and I deeply resent whenever I lose control over them.) There was something Jacqueline Bisset-ish about this woman. I'm not saying she's as beautiful as Jacqueline Bisset, but if you look at her askance, there is a Bissety sort of a thing going on there. (And I dare you to look at her even askance, if your eyes are fetched. You can't. Your eyes are simply not doing what you want them to do, and I happen to think it's all just very unfair.) Naturally, we are talking about Rachel Davies, which you already knew because this thread is entitled "Rachel Davies." She is still with us, probably pushing if not surpassing eighty years of age. Her long list of credits have been composed almost entirely of British television work, which means less opportunities were granted her to ditch the apparel, alas. At least she showed a little skin here, clad in a bikini. We also got to see a breast. Well... not really. She was seen through a curtain, and it was dark. (My entire Rachel Davies experience is simply grounded in unfairness, so far.) You may see, two posts up, how "stralis440" kindly prepared screen shots of Rachel and her alleged breast. (I can't make out what is going on even though my eyes are now back with their rightful owner.) I took one of these frame grabs and "fixed" it so that we may enjoy the mammarian delight, but I'm sure many of us are going to feel as though we are holding the bag, with the uncomfortable feeling that Rachel's bust is indeed a bust. Yet I say to ye (yes, ye; I'm talkin' to you, ye), ye, have more than little faith. Evidently Rachel was kind enough to offer a brief glimpse of her exposed charms, for which we should all feel grateful, and so should all of the ye's of generations to come. A Private Function (1984) was one of Rachel's very few "big screen" appearances, what appears to be a veddy British comedy with an all star cast from the empire where the sun has set, including Monty Python's Michael Palin, and that classy dame, Maggie Smith. True to form, the silver screen beats out the boob tube, leading to perhaps the only example of nudity from this lovely lady. (It's a good thing, you know, because when the boob tube shows a boob, you often can't make out the boob.) In a scene with Pete Postlethwaite, his character tells Rachel, "You've got a magnificent boom." Rachel replies, "I don't like that word." Who can blame her, because what the heck is a "boom"? (Oh. I suippose Pete meant to say "bum." Blimey, how the Limeys can butcher the language they invented.) Pete then comes back with, "Bottom, then." causing Rachel to sniff, "Not that either." Well, if she's such a prude, what is she doing with her boom all exposed and everything? (It just doesn't make sense, but who cares.) Pete then rests the side of his face on the gluteus magnificus, and cracks, "cheek to cheek to cheek." Sometimes we have to work very hard to get our pound of flesh, but by Jove, ain't it grand how this sexy bird delivered in her own modest way. . |
