I am a fan of the parent show, Man from U.N.C.L.E. but Girl was, unfortunately, a bit too goofy. Girl aired concurrently with the third season of Man, which was the season Man veered too far into campy territory. Stefanie Powers character didn't get to be as tough and self-reliant as I would have liked, a product of the time unfortunately.
To me, the main problem with the show was that I didn't buy Noel Harrison as a competent, heroic spy. If you like Stefanie, you may enjoy the show because she did wear mini skirts alot and I seem to recall her having on a bikini in at least one episode. There were some pretty nice eye-candy in the form of guest stars, too. Jocelyn Lane and Luciana Paluzzi are the two that immediately spring to mind. |
