Frustratingly slow hosts

I get rather frustrated by really slow downloads on some hosts as a free user.

I do not want to criticise any member for using such hosts, as the are sharing their files and work for us after all. I am grateful for their efforts, but 3 and 4 hour downloads, sometimes for only part of a file is particularly annoying.

Would it be sensible to ask members who use such hosts, filefactory and filejoker (sic) are two of the slowest, to split the file into smaller chunks, to make downloading easier. I know overall that it will still take the same amount of time, or even longer, but some of us might not be able to leave a computer downloading for such lengths of time, or share a computer, or not have the privacy for that amount of time.

Is there a simpler solution, a way of speeding up the download?

Finally if one is patient enough to get the download, is it ok to then re-up to a faster host, or would this be frowned upon for duplicating, or plagiarising someone else's posts?

Any suggestions welcome.

filejoker hosting is bellow usefull dowload service,every dowload take hours to complete ...

for:filefactory is using few web pages,who offers dowloading from these hosts[you send an sms,get data package & you spend on dowloading files]. i think something like this must exist in uk ...

Finally its your own decision...if you do not want to pay you have to live with the speed for free users.
Splitting the files into smaller chunks is a good idea but rules like "a maximum of 5 file host links per 24 hour limit" make this nearly impossible for good uploaders
Just as uploading movies in good quality. When I look for a movie VEF would be the very last place for me to search because I for myself prefer HD releases

Its not that I do now want to pay (as Mrs alal says everybody likes a bargain) it is that I do not want to pay for every file host site.

I thought the limit rule was about posts not links, but I must be wrong. Perhaps that smaller chunk idea isn't good then. Nevermind!

I'll say it again though, 4 hours 12 minutes for a 621mb download is absurd.

thats right, one of the main problems here is that there are too much different hosters. I also stay clear of filefactory and filejoker because I do not want to wait for hours and I´m not interested in still more Premium-accounts...for most of the movies you can find uploads with several hosters on alternative sides if you do not find your hoster here, just an idea

different sections, different rules, some have a post-limit and others a file-limit

Funnily enough these are 2 hosts I can't download from at all , they never finish for me. Get to 100%, drop back to 99% then start again.

From my own personal experience, Despositfiles and ImageBam are very reliable hosts. It's more of an issue of which host you choose to use.

I only upload images and I use Imagebam. When IB bans an image I use Imagevenue to add the one or two images remaining. I have followed this procedure for years.

However sometimes IB or IV is very slow (once every 2 or 3 months). In that case I just wait for a few hours and one of the two of them will work.

Thanks all. Spicoli, images are not really a problem, if an image took 4 hours to download I would give up all together!
