Just who the hell is ‘Rebecca’? Well, that’s the whole point – no one’s saying. As house artist for Eros Comix (the pornographic imprint of Fantagraphic Books from Seattle, Washington), Rebecca is one of the most prolific comic illustrators of the 21c. Apart from the work for Eros, about which more later, Rebecca has created a gallery of femslash fanfic drawings of super-heroines of ‘hippie chicks’ full of sexy 60s chic, and of famous female stars in compromising positions. But just who is she? Her persona is like one of these maddening figures from a Venetian carnival, flirting but never revealing gender.

Rebecca’s real identity is a closely-guarded secret. Who is she? The Eros Comix site isn’t saying. They do say this:

Rebecca is a pseudonym for…? No one – or just a few – really knows who hides behind this artist name. We just know that Rebecca is a talented artist and the person behind long running Eros series “Housewives at play”. Naughty entertainment with a twist.

Born in 1962 in Desio, Lombardy, Giovanna Casotto is an Italian erotic artist. According to her stories, she was interested in drawing for a long time, but it is by consulting the comics of her husband, when she was a housewife at the time, and in particular, among these comics, La Bionda by Franco Saudelli that she decided to draw in this style. "I went to the Scuola del Fumetto in Milan (it) with a copy of La Bionda in my hand," she says, "and I said: I want to draw like that guy!

She also shares with Saudelli, in her creations, an interest in the fetishism of the foot. She became known in particular by participating in the 1990s in Selen magazine. Her drawings evoke the aesthetics of the 1950s and pin-up girls with rounded shapes, with stories tinged with humor and often short.

She has the particularity to put herself in the scene quite often in her stories and to be thus her own model

Lynn Paula Russell (born June 27, 1949 in Whitstable, Kent, England, as Lynn Paula Smith, also known as Paula Meadows) is an English illustrator, painter, actress and author.

Apollonia Saintclair's illustrations appeared out of nowhere on the web in 2012. A self-taught illustrator with a tortuous past, Apollonia draws for her own pleasure and that of her audience. She also works for the publishing industry, such as La Musardine, a famous French erotic bookstore and publishing house. Her imagination is fed as much by Pop culture as by academic references and her graphic influences range from Leonardo da Vinci to Moebius through Milo Manara. She also finds great inspiration in The Silver Spoon, one of the leading Italian cookbooks. A long-time resident of the Old World, Apollonia divides her time between her kitchen and her studio.
