Default Bizarre problems in the last 24 hours using Firefox to surf the site

Late yesterday evening (BST) I tried to log into the site as usual using Firefox to find that my login page was blank, with just the forum's background visible:

Switching browsers to Chrome there was no such problem - everything worked normally.

I then copied and pasted a publicly accessible page of the site from Chrome into Firefox. The page loaded, but everything above the first post of the page - ie the login facility; the tool bar etc. - was missing:

How it should have appeared:

This issue has since disappeared and is no longer a problem.

.

However, I've just noticed another problem. When trying to reply to a thread using Firefox I found that the tools didn't work, ie it wasn't possible to change the alignment, font, or colour/size of the text or add smilies etc. Again, this problem doesn't occur when using Chrome to browse the site.

Dimwit,

First, are you using NoScript in Firefox? You might want to play around with that to see if it has something to do with this. I allow the VEF and google-analytics scripts here. Don't need to allow anything else for the site to work correctly.

Otherwise, no idea.

There have been some maintenance at the data center, mabey some downtime, but it should work better after 10 minutes.

I've noticed such display problems occasionally with Firefox, and they always went away after clearing the browser cache.

This indicates that JavaScript is disabled. If using NoScript, you probably want to allow scripts from vintage-erotica-forum.com and yahooapis.com.

NoScript settings don't explain the first problem. That occurred out of the blue, with my NoScript and Addblock Plus settings as they had been for a long time. I played around with them and even removed Firefox from my computer and reinstalled it - all to no effect.

However, all that messing about probably explains the second problem - today NoScript was indeed set to block scripts from VEF.
