Dimitri Yar,
anti defrag? Don't know what you mean. There are a lot of good defragging programs out there (I've been using defraggler) and there is one included in Win 7. I don't know why you would not want to defrag. I do it every several weeks or so. Helps speed up the system a bit. |

My advice is to click the start button and type "defragmenter" in the search box. Then click on Disk Defragmenter and at Select Configuration select the option you want. |

Windows 7 runs defrag as a scheduled task by default. It runs at 1 A.M. on Wednesdays, if I remember correctly.

Never use Defrag unless your harddrive is old or absolute full of crap...do not use unless it meets this standard.

What standard is that? You can defrag an old hard drive but if its really ancient (5 plus years) and has not been defragged in a long, long time it could end up having problems with intensive writing and reading. I've had some not reboot afterwards. If you've got a really old PATA (or EIDE) based drive running a tool like Spinrite beforehand would be beneficial. If a system is fairly recent, a conventional HDD will benefit from a defrag. As Buttsie pointed out in his posts, SSD will gain little to no benefit from doing so. I think some people have tested some major defrag vendors claims and only one showed only a marginal benefit from doing so on SSD (PD I believe) but probably not worth all the writes to the SSD. Bottom line: HDD defrag: Yes, SSD Defrag: No.
