Absolutely - I really do admire the man greatly. He has that knack of writing songs that sound like they have always been there. "Hurricane" is a masterpiece.

But a whole album of that voice...

I'm watching a program fronted by Jazzie B about 80s music that I recorded a few weeks back & during the intro-preamble, comedy funny-man Sir Leonard Henrod

with his face saying "We were promised a level playing field.."
urgh , have the Beeb have given him a platform to bleat-on about inequity again?

...I'm about half way into the program about now. It's a fairly good account of Black youth counterculture during the 80s, the style, the changes in society, SUSS laws... Lenny pops-up grumbling that he was thinking "I can't be the only black person doing comedy, why am I the only one who has a show?" (aww, poor him

) then inter-cut it with a sketch where he's taking the pee out of Micheal Jackson

That's a great step-forward for suppressing stereo-types Len

much like his other characters

as to the question of his knighthood, i think he may feel it's an act of tokenism (aww, poor him again

)
