Songs you loved, but grew to hate
These are songs which you may have loved at one time, but, after hearing them fifty times a day (or so it seemed), you started hating them.
Some of these I still cannot listen to, even after all these years... it's too bad, really. "American Pie" "Hey, Jude" "Judy in Disguise" "Layla" "Love Is Blue" "Love The One You're With" "Me and Bobby McGee" (Janis Joplin version)

I bet you can't tell what age range I fall into...
Six of the top offenders:
Smells Like Teen Spirit ~ Nirvana Jeremy ~ Pearl Jam Enter Sandman ~ Metallica Paradise City ~ GnR Champagne Supernova ~ Oasis Two Princes ~ Spin Doctors I know all of the words to these songs! I never even tried to learn them, they just forcibly entered my ears and squatted in my brain. It's sad, really. I would also like to present an honorable mention to Tom's Diner ~ Suzanne Vega (DNA remix). Although never in seriously heavy rotation (here in the States, anyway), I still to this day find this song sneaking into my mind when it's quiet and I have no distractions. Curses!

If you need an antidote to 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' you just must go in search of Weird Al Yankovich's 'Smells Like Nirvana'...
Two songs I don't mind if I never hear again.... "Mull of Kintyre" and "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" ...and the playing of 'Nessun Dorma' between World Cups should be banned.. |

"Break on through to the other side - Doors" it's too damn old.
Also, all Beatles AFAIC - cannot stand the sound of it, sorry.

Almost anything by the red hot chilli peppers, I ended up living next door to someone who played them constantly - yes all day and it fucked me off no end.

Macarena - Los del Rio Loved it, but only for 1 night chasing a skirt around a nightclub, Failed dismally with the skirt so the song was put on the hate list, permanently

Don't stop believin' - loved it many years ago, now thanks to Glee I hate the sodding song!!!
Smells like teen spirit - seems to be a general feeling here, but again, good at the time, but just over played and over played............ I love rock and roll - always liked Joan Jett, but I just think of Five (crap boy band) when I here this these days...... Kashmir/Every breath you take - Puff Daddy sampling them, 'nuff said!!!! I could go on and on but I won't get on my soap box....... |

Happy Birthday to you .............................
Quite liked it up until i was 34 yet now for some reason i hate the very sound of it , never more so that first deep intake of breath which announces it`s about to be unleashed upon my aging ear drums
