OK, so what is "unused sick leave"? I mean, don't you get sick leave if you're sick - don't you get paid for it? Or do you have to accumulate said leave before you're allowed to have paid sick?

Meanwhile, it concerns a compensation lawsuit in the amount of 5.7 billion euro. I guess the effect of such legal actions on the democratic decision-making process is self-explanatory.

Just because you were lucky enough not to be affected (yet) does not mean that will be the case in the future.
Vattenfall are currently pushing forward with a major scheme to cross Norfolk with underground high voltage cables drawing power from North Sea wind farms. Nobody seems to know if AC or DC cables carrying 330K volts one metre below the ground are a good idea, but never mind these trivial details.

This big budget project sounds inspiring, especially when you listen to Vatenfall's environmentally friendly sales pitch aimed primarily at local residents and hear the terms "energy security" and "your children's future," starting to be used quite a bit.

I've talked with the company's chief engineer at considerable length and the project simply glows like something of national importance that has to be done. But things are not quite what they seem and the disruption this will create is going to be immense, damaging and last several years. It also seems that there is no prospect of cheaper UK power as a result of what's going on.

Things would at least be better if they were working to sensible plans that fitted in with other energy company developments, but this is not going to happen. Naturally the local authorities think this incredibly expensive project is a wonderful thing which everyone supports.

The old line comes to mind - money talks and bullshit walks!

Remember the good old days, when greatness was celebrated?

Now victimhood is celebrated, and the worse part is that it done as a ruse by those in power.

Roll on Armageddon.

We get 10 days sick leave per year, 3 you can use without a medical certificate, all other do. Any you don't use accumulate so if you don't use any in one year the following year you will have 10 new ones plus the the 10 you didn't use making it 20 ... and that keeps accumulating, if you leave you won't get paid out for them any more than 40 hours.

I see. So your argument is that the TPP contains evil clauses because something is going on between two entities who are in no way connected to the TPP.

So do you have a point?

You can easily find more information on the subject yourself if you want. I promise I will not stop you from doing that.

The company I worked for would pay you out any unused sick days at the end of each financial year. The aim was to discourage absenteeism by giving people a yearly lump sum. Worked a treat
