What are the reasons women do it?

Is it money, hope for fame, need for drugs, desperate life situation or what?

How would you rate it percentage wise?

Given that 99% of pro porn performers look bored out of their brains as they fake it, it has to be money. That's why real amateur stuff is so much better

A buddy of mine in L.A. worked on porn sets, and from what he said, and from what I gathered from meeting some of the actors and actresses: yes, there are a certain percentage of girls strictly in it for the money. There are some lesbians who do boy-girl scenes for the money, and their lack of enthusiasm is evident.

However, a much larger percentage than what you'd think falls under the category of: chicks who fucking LOVE sex, and figure that they might as well get paid for it. Or fun girls who do it for a lark (kind of like getting a tattoo). Needless to say, they are often quite unstable women, with tough childhoods, drug problems, or both.
Or neither.
Many just seem to have an over-the-top need for attention.

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who actually works in the biz, because all of my observances are second-hand.

Considering the health risks I would go with money. Why are there so many eastern european girls in porn? MONEY. They get to travel the world and get paid for it. I've went off US porn big time. It's just a sausage factory pumping out 100s of titles a month.

Back to porn, some random, obvious thoughts:
- doing it for money doesn't mean they are necessarily bored/disgusted etc...

I think it's unfair to say that all porn girls have mental health probs or other psychological issues. I suppose if you work in a dead end job on shit wages, the porn world might seem attractive. If a girl comes from some parts of Eastern Europe $1500 a scene is big, big money. And it's a way to get to travel and live a more affluent lifestyle.

Millions of them leave home to work as cleaners etc for $500 a week.

I think, a very big majority of them do it for the money. And only a very little rest of them , maybe less than 5%, do it maybe because they are horny, or exibitionistic, or whatever...
