Most things that are poisonous will leave you alone. I mean I see Red Back Spiders a lot during the Summer months in my garage etc. As long as you don't put your hand on them you're ok. No one's died from a Red Back bite since the 80's (anti venom). The Trapdoor Spider in N.S.W. now they sound like nasty buggers. I've caught Blue Ring Octopus, nearly picked up a Brown snake (when I was about 8 or 9 years old my hand was within a couple of inches) BTW they are not legless lizards. I've had Brown Snakes come out of Aluminium extrusions delivered to a factory I worked at. Also when I was a kid my me and my older 2 bro's were on boogie boards quite far offshore at the beach. Boring day very hot and flat ocean no waves. When we noticed a helicopter (rescue) flying really low and hanging around. We were wondering why. Then my older bro goes shit that must be a shark patrol..Looking back could of been someone in trouble in a boat but I have never got back to shore so quick before. I'm 42 years old now and I hear all the time people saying "shit there's a lot of stuff that will kill you in Australia" but the only time I have ever really felt really at risk in my life in this country is when I bought a house and found that people next door were Bogans. They drove me insane. I came very close to killing them and then myself...

By the way recent studies have shown that the Funnel Web Spider, Brown Snake, Blue Ringed Octopus etc. are now known not to be the most poisonous species in Australia... Studies have shown you are more likely to die if you come in contact with Dr.Philip Nitschke...

We had a crime wave in Adelaide the other day... A couple of male Pelicans who have started to attack people who walk along the bank of the river Torrens for food.. Very nasty... Well I guess it's better than what used to happen along the banks of the Torrens.. Police used to beat up gay men and throw them in... Apparently a guy who works in wildlife was on the radio said "if you want to catch a Pelican it's very easy. All you have to do is put a piece of bread on the ground right behind you and turn your back. You will hear them come up to get it. You quickly turn around and grab them by the beak and they are powerless...
