A question for mods: I have copies of... probably most if not all of hos's "Solved Classic" & "Solved Modern" model ID sheets, downloaded ages ago. The question, though is: is there a use for them? I'm not willing or able to perform the maintenance task that hos used to do, all I'm possibly able to do is re-up those old images. /shrug/ So: do we want them or is it all just a tedious waste in the bigger picture?

hos has graciously provided me with all those files; 908 mb worth . As soon as I can get through them I'll restore the missing solved sheets. Thanks, hos.

Default Speculation

I have a couple of pieces of speculative information about a couple of models/queries within MIR. I'm posting here in order to ask: do mods. want such forms of info. added to queries here (e.g. creating a mystery-additional), or are they too far-fetched for that?

Here they are, so you can judge:

1. Johanne in AUPH 1991-10, photog. Hank Londoner, box post here. I have not seen it so this is purely speculation, but I strongly suspect that the same model appeared as Johanne in Gallery, 1991-Holiday, photog. Jim Paris (Hank Londoner). Info. from WonderClub.

2. Regarding this query about a model I think is Shannen Steele. Again as yet unseen but there is a pictorial in Gallery, 1991-11 of Shanen, photog. Steven West. Again, info. from WonderClub. Shannen's AUPH, 1992-03 set was photog. Steve Easton while her Club (US), 1992-08 set was by Stephen West. So I think there's a pattern regarding both the model and photog. names. Not proof of anything, of course.

Note both the above cases have narrow time-spans.

I don't think it's a good idea to add such speculation. When pics become available then it would be easy to tell if any of this would add value and an additional info thread could be created. You could also place a magazine request in the interim.

Having said that here's the toc for November 1991 and there's a small photo of Shanen in the lower right corner. It looks like this is from the same shoot as Shannen Steele's Australian Penthouse March 1992 appearances so there you go.

I've just realised that Monika Stevens has been through MIR before:

imho if someone asks for a better ID than those which are already known, for the moderation it should stay "unsolved" or "mystery" as long as nothing better shows up.

but, imho it should be possible for the original requester to say "ok, seems that's it. if there are no objections by other members, drop the request please".

that's how i have dealt with it. same time, i've also asked members to not concentrate too much on getting better IDs for models who already have a name, even if just low level. those requests should be exceptions in comparison to the specific members other requests - and not the rule. see it as overdose-prevention, not as no-go.

I have often asked queries for models with existing (e.g. mag.) names, sometimes two-part ones. I did so simply to find out if they were better known by some other name about which I was ignorant, i.e. I didn't want to create a thread only to find they already had one under some other name that in my ignorance I'd missed. I had always thought that was a "good" way of going about things, i.e. rather than creating model threads willy nilly & making work for models mods. in terms of sorting/merging, etc. Was I wrong all along?

In the case of Monika Stevens, for example, I wasn't insisting she must be better known by some other handle so please tell me it, but rather simply asking: have I missed something? Is she better known else-wise or is this all we've got? That's been true of I think all my queries.

no. as i said, it's not a no-go to ask for models which have a name. i just "disliked" / "prevented the section" from a kind of manner which consecutivly picked named models from (often same) threads one by one. while i understand and respect the interest in getting better names for single models, i don't understand a flood of who-is-this-named-model by the same member within a short period of time.

anyhow, that's just my view on a model id request section, it's not out-of-rules. just keep in mind that moderators can always and without any problems merge threads together - or change thread titles if better names appear. you don't have to visit model id request first if you're just unsure if the name is good enough. it's good enough if you can proof it, and you can fill a new thread with more than just a few single pics or a single photoshoot (even if i think amount of content shouldn't be a criteria at all, that's just the poor VEF approach for model threads)

This box post has comments from Baccaruda saying she's Lyn Parkes from Mayfair, Angela Sutton from Men Only, etc. This is Lyn Park[e]s and I think different--areolae & nose? If mods. agree then perhaps the word "not" should be added to Baccaruda's comment, or else "uncertain"? Folks might otherwise wonder why it's in the box at all, if mods think it's Lyn Parks.

Here's Charlene from Genesis.

The spelling in Mayfair is Parkes not Parks.

I've added a note to the MB post. Thanks, effCup.
