That's right, but you don't hear us banging on about it.

And why would we, with the amount of bloody sympathy we get around here.

He should have sympathy for us, and whoever lives closest to me, blondi, loosegoose and motorboater.

Sounds like you'd prefer political leaders like Lenin & co.? They "did" something, and were convinced it was the "right" thing to do.

We just had this gigantic ball of fire appear in the sky, for what must've been nearly ten minutes!

I wonder what that was?

Probably unrelated, but as an elderly woman posted online "If the PM told me it was raining during a thunderstorm, my reaction would be "mmm I'm not so sure"".

OK but ignoring the political "colours", leaders/regimes can be activist agents of (generally sweeping) change or managers of more gradual or incremental "reform" (change), which to their critics is often thought of simply as stasis or inaction.

I used an extreme example but that was just to illustrate clearly/unmistakably. "Not quite that far" to one person may be "not quite, or not nearly, far enough" to another, and "way too far" to a third. Shades of red/pink/blue/green are also all shades of grey, so to speak.

Politics is typically multi-dimensional. An illustration: in apartheid South Africa it took a more "conservative" (in terms of policies relating to finance/money/the economy) politician to be able to commit to releasing Mandela than his (more than one) less-conservative predecessors. Those predecessors had not been able to reach the bargaining/balancing point (e.g. within Cabinet) to be able to successfully argue for/do that. So there's "shades of grey" fading off across multiple spectra within politics. And there are cases where the seeming "end pole" of one spectrum instead loops around to link back up near/alongside its supposed "opposite" extreme.

Politics is not unlike the coast of the UK: the closer one looks the more intricate detail becomes visible. Such an analogy is often applied to explain fractal geometry--i.e. the concept of infinite resolution.

I'm concerned that we may be following Britain with their 1% 'Super Rich' given that 55 of Australia's top earners paid no income tax, due to creative accounting.

Currently, the richest 85 people in the world possess as much wealth as the poorest 50 per cent of the world's population.

Default Little wonder our NBN sucks.

This hasn't received a lot of attention yet in mainstream media.
Wonder if it has anything to do with Turnbull being communications minister?
