If the purpose of a prison is to provide some form of rehabilitation, then I genuinely think these executions defeat the purpose.

"Indonesia says it takes a hard line because of the country's own drugs problem - 33 Indonesians die every day as a result of drugs, according to Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency."

The fact is that they apparently reformed whilst in prison, as ES says we have no way of knowing whether if they had not been caught they would have had a sudden change of heart and ended any involvement with drugs. I have no time for any drug dealers and if you want to try and get rich off the misery of others then you have to be prepared to accept the possible consequences.
I don't agree with the death penalty myself but I respect the right of Indonesia to set their own legal penalties. If you are stupid enough to try and smuggle drugs in countries that have the death penalty then you have no one to blame but yourself if you get caught.
Indonesia would hope that this sends out a strong message to others not to get involved in drugs so the executions may prevent others from going down that path.

Are you having a go at my Country??? There's been a fair amount of influence from Germany that has dragged down this city (Have you ever been to Heidelberg???)

The only good thing about Germany, is that the breasts of my avatar are of German descent.

Hmm, Let's see, Am I a human for thinking about the lives destroyed by unseen victims of their vile disgusting product Did I see much in the news or media about those victims No And why Because we don't know who they are, no news story there, but with those two scumbag motherfucking assholes there is, so there is a news story.

As for their redemption, I hope they did redeem themselves. However, ain't it strange how many on death row suddenly find God Some do, some don't. But were Chan and Sukumaran thinking of their victims judgment standing before the almighty while in the drug trade doubt it. But when faced with their own mortality, hey, they got nothing too lose and nowhere to go while behind bars. Might as well grasp at straws, if something good came of it, good.

As for their executions, I really don't like the death penalty, as I said, that's for the Hitlers and Bin Ladens. A fitting punishment for not just those two, but any drug dealer is give them their own medicine. Forcefully inject their own heroin into them day in day out for a while, get them addicted and then completely cease the injections let them go through withdrawal for some time, and when they show signs of being the addiction subsiding, start the process all over again for a year or two, That should teach them.

Sorry, but my shortcomings as a human is that I care for the victims, but I've still no sympathy for idiots who can't read signs in Bali and the rest of Indonesia about the Death Penalty for drug crimes.

RIP for victims of Chan and Sukumaran, nobody weeps for them.
