It could, but I don't think it should.

The number of stories per mag is a derived value, not a fundamental one. The highest story number in the Magazine Story category is the number of stories per mag.

Having an additional field could lead to possible data mismatches and it would also mean that the Magazine category could not be completed until all the mags have been looked through and the number of stories counted.

Just to make it clear: A collection CSV maintainer's task is to reflect the website he is working on. So we have to accept some inconsistencies compared with the purpose of this thread.
