No, and I'm pleased. We don't have a Valentine's culture, but I knew what it was. So when I got a Valentine's message from a male colleague where I live now, I was shocked -- was I sending the wrong signals?

But it turns out, they call it "friends' day" here, and it's not for lovers. Thank heaven!

As for myself and the mail, just the usual assortment of bills and a letter from the Federal Government warning me it will be the end of Civilisation as we know it if I vote Labour.

No its a total waste of time and money-why should you wait one day in the year to tell someone you love them-what about the rest of the year? My Dad bought some flowers for my Mum but he's a soppy old sort, which is nice at his age 87, but I don't have a romantic bone in my body-however, if I ever met someone I would know how to treat them well as Del Boy might say "a nice steak meal", although it wouldn't be steak!
