JPMorgan loses $2.000.000.000 trading derivatives. Supposed to be a hedge, but no one knows why they were hedging. Above all, no one knows if they're telling the truth and if they didn't lose much more
But I guess they'll still get bonuses |

Did anybody else watch the program about the 70s last night? Focused a lot on British car manufacturing. 3 day weeks and 4 hour tea breaks it's so ridiculous it is funny. PM Jim Callaghan (grumpy bastard he was) ordered a top of the range rover with bullet proof glass and all the extras, reinforced petrol tank etc. First day he used it he pressed the button to lower the rear door glass, and the glass fell out onto his lap One business man went to korea were he was producing 7 cars an hour, in Britain it was 7 cars a week! The good old days eh...

Yes I saw it last week though when it was first shown. It was a bleak time especially when one minute you would be watching television and the next plunged into total darkness-hell during the Winter as it was so bloody cold and I remember taking my Batman torch(well it had a BATMAN sticker on it) and training it against the wall making shadow puppets with my sister-can you imagine the XBox, Wii and Internet generation doing that these days? "Hello, Sunny Jim Callaghan here..." as done by ace impressionist of the time Mike Yarwood, and then we also had Michael Foot who was once described as a scarecrow-let's face it he wasn't sartorially elegant, even his hair was flyaway! We've come a long way since then, it's amazing we even survived the 70s.

I was a child of the seventies, glorious times, unfortunately I also became an adult then, maxi skirts who remembers them ? what a downer, especially hearing about mini skirts, the horror of trouser suits still to come rubbish music and if you weren't a car worker you were treated like shite, still our union leader got made a lord, so our sacrifices weren't in vain

The seventies were a bloody time here. Bombs and bullets everyday. I remember seeing a British soldier in bits they found body parts for days afterwards. I will never forget the carnage. He had a mum and dad like me. Life was so cheap then.
