Default Topic to improve the life. Campaigns and petitions.

Hi,
There are far too many negative topics on this section and apart complaining, people probably do or make nothing.
The power of internet is to open the eyes of people and to contribute to directly speak to authorities.

I remember that I several times directly wrote to politic candidates in the way that they think about unfair facts that preoccupied me.

I wrote to Mélanchon, Hollande, Hulot. Mélanchon was the first French candidate, who clearly spoke about animal welfare, when he didn't speak about it during decades.
Was it thanks to me? No. But I think that writing to him, contributed to open his mind.

As you read, I'm for a peaceful revolution. We need to have fair politicians.
As Swiss citizen, I'm used to contribute to the politic of my country in voting 4 to 5 times per year.

I'll try to publish petitions and campaigns that, in my point of view, will improve freedom and the future of sensible creatures.

Here is the first campaign I voted for.

Let's end the plight of captive cetaceans (a French Peta action) that will be sent to the Environmental minister Nicolas Hulot.

Quote:
Orcas and dolphins locked up for life in tiny ponds and forced to perform in marine parks are forcibly reproduced to obtain new generations of prisoners. A court decision has just annulled the ban on reproduction of captive cetaceans for procedural reasons: sign our petition addressed to the Minister of the Ecological and Solidary Transition so that France does not make a big leap backwards and reaffirms its decision in favor of animals.
Here is the link.

Let's end the plight of captive cetaceans

Feel free to publish yours.

Best regards

I did quite a lot of campaigning to get sentences for animal cruelty extended. Wrote to many an MP and contributed to on-line petitions.

It seems to be bearing some fruit. And even if you are not particularly exercised with animals' treatment, the point I always made was that it was a step away from harming children or vulnerable people in general.

I deeply share the opinion of Gandhi and today psychologists.
People who do not treat well animals, do not treat well human beeings too.
People exploiting animals in the way to make money, are ready to exploit human beeings for their own benefits.

But this topic is not only about animals, it also can be about petitions about humanitarian, social, environmental or ecological "fights".
If you get some links to share... Feel free.

Will do, but meantime there is one simple thing we can all do.

When you buy anything in a plastic bottle (shower gel, bleach etc.) only buy those brands that use a clear or white container. So much easier and more cost-effective to recycle because you don't have to get the dyes out. Most black bottles (like Lynx stuff) go to landfill because recycling them is almost impossible despite the claims on the product.

Also, take the caps/lids off bottles you recycle.

I use this kind of soap as my grand mother used.

I even wrote to two supermarkets to reduce their packagings and promote self-service for food or other products with glass containers.
One of them replied to me that they had to respect the hygiene. They are afraid that some dirty people infect the distributors.
That's a good point, but....
I suppose that they don't want to pay workers that could do this job with gloves instead to let the customers doing this by themselves.

There is a balance to be struck between use of plastic and the danger of reducing shelf-life - resulting in food waste. Also contamination as you say.

It has to be said that plastic is darned useful in this sphere and getting rid of it completely has many disadvantages.

I do my bit for the environment - I burn coal in the several fireplaces at Otoko Towers thus protecting trees from my chainsaw.

In Spain

Against the corridas in Brunete.

And in France

Against corridas in France

Be careful... ugly pictures. But that still happen in European democracies like France or Spain.
A shame.

I personnaly think that I will never travel anymore in Spain to spend one cent until they do not stop this dirty show.
And probably very rarely will come back to France.
