Anky was absolutely right about the last HP film. If you didnt read the books, they were 'ok' films, but if you have...absolutely superb.
The last film tied everything up nicely...IF you knew what was happening (from the books). As Anky said, the last film just about 'had it all', but then again, the whole series pretty much has done. I recommend this film if you have read the books mainly.

I read the first three books and saw all the films up to the 7th pt2 and I am hoping to see that shortly so they were all a surprise to me anyway.

I have seen Potter 3 times: Monday, Tuesday and today in 3D, my first 3D film (3d is not really worth it). I read the last book awhile ago and have been waiting for this, part 2. Excellent movie! My favorite of the series.

Seventh Seal but I cant understand the ending. Is it supposed to be optimistic? It seems to me to be an actual scary ending.
Closer to modern Donnie Darko. Interesting and impressive debut film from Richard Kelly. Will he ever top it? I'd can't see how but lets hope so. Paul Thomas Anderson followed up Boogie Nights with Magnolia so it shows that greatness can be bettered. I thought Boogie was brilliant but Magnolia blew it away. If you ridicule Tom Cruise watch this film. Every part of it is so well done. You can use the film as a puzzle and work how every character relates to everything else. |

I definitely recommend Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt2-it was fantastic, what a rollercoaster of a film that was and it ties up a lot of loose ends from the first one but in order to understand the second one, you must see the first otherwise you will be clueless. Great special effects and a good plot tied up at the end-pretty intense in places with some characters not making it to the second reel(I won't say who) but I haven't enjoyed a run of films like that since James Bond. J.K. Rowling is a genius and deserves all the plaudits over the years. Go and see it, you won't be disappointed. Hoping to see 'Cowboys and Aliens' next month(Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford)

Buried.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462758/ A civilian truck driver is kidnapped and buried alive in the Iraqi desert with only a lighter and a cell phone. His kidnappers want a million dollars for his freedom but he's just a blue collar guy trying to do a job and pay his bills. Very well played by Ryan Reynolds. |

I think there appears to be some confusion about this thread-when I said recommend a good film I meant current ones not others from years ago, as it appears there are some really good ones coming up such as Cowboys And Aliens, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Super 8. If you see any of those let us know. Thanks.

'Cowboys And Aliens'-saw it last night, really good, if you suspend your belief of the idea that aliens appear in a Western film. However Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford are very good in it. The story(without giving much away) concerns a cowboy(Daniel) who wakes up on the plains unable to remember who he is or what he is, but finds a photo of a woman near him and a large metallic bracelet on his left wrist...now go and see it
Hoping to see Super 8 next.
