But we could get their opinions in another vote that would be consultative and another for the teenagers too.

I vaguely remember an episode of an early Brit sitcom where people spent the entire episode forming factional committees and it ended with them at last reaching consensus on who should take the minutes

What is direct democracy? If you take the UK referendum on EU membership as direct democracy them it has resulted in nothing but chaos. Condensing 40 years of laws, treaties and trade deals into a simple yes-or-no vote was doomed to failure. We elect MPs to make these decisions for us and if they can't do it based on the facts then they should be kicked out as the next election. Asking the masses to vote on complicated issues just does not work

This is direct democracy as it works in Switzerland.

It works well. No Trump, no Bush Jr, no Tony Blair... no wars.
Problems we are confronted from, come from nations that are not direct democracies.
