Pretty blonde American tourist: Excuse me mister, I notice that traffic lights in Australia make this tick-tick-tick noise. What's that about?

Australian businessman: Did you notice that the tone changes when the light is green? They do that so the visually impaired people know when it is safe to cross.

Pretty blonde American tourist: Wow! In the states we don't let blind folks drive.

I had a sleep in this morning, got up around 8:20am and I had to put the heater on for ten minutes to take the chill off the room.

And Basil our Mini Foxy has his coat on for the first time this year.
It's sunnier now though.

My Uncle James always use to say sarcastic is the poorest form of wit. I miss my Uncle Jim, he died of exposure on a bitterly cold 14'C day in the winter of 92.

I loved cricket as a kid, played junior cricket till I was 15 I think but umm, girls and illegal alcohol purchasing and being a typical teen took over

I only vaguely remember when Ian Chappell was captain, clearly remember when his brother took over, and OK that underarm thing was a disgrace

Alan Border after him and Michael Taylor and Steve Waugh ..... Cricket was great then, after Ponting took over to present day I've hated each and every Aussie team, the arrogance and a thought in the team they have a God given right to win pissed me off and even though have watched it on rare occasion has turned me off.

I hope this brings the whole of Cricket Australia back down to Earth and as for the few that disgraced the game , Ban em' for life I say

I'm sorry, I posted this a week ago now when I didn't think very much was going to happen. Now I think the lambasting of the Aussies has gone too far. Some of the reactions, even from Australians, has been ridiculous.

It's only a game.

True, 100 %, but it's also a living for many, sponsorship deals fall apart, gambling on sports is effected and so on.

For me maybe it's at least a way to clear the garbage out and start liking our national team again
