Melbourne has a public train system with only 4 I think (never use public transport) that are underground, and those are just circling the CBD.

The rest of the trains are at ground level and guess what that causes at railway crossings Plus .... when freeways are built, they always start with 2 lanes, then some years later they will decide to upgrade it to 3 as traffic is congested and 2 lanes are not enough ...... and here's the best stupidity.

I only use 2 freeways here, The Western Ring Road when I go to my hometown and also The Princess Freeway if going from my hometown to my younger brothers who live in Melbournes Eastern suburbs.

4 years ago the Ring Road was upgraded from 3 lanes to 4, it really needed it.
2 years of roadworks and slowing down speeds where workers were and so on.

That road is about 40 kM (25 miles) long, they did all the road work but for whatever stupid reason decided to not do one section about 4 kM long right in the middle and was left at 2 lanes .... a year after the rest of it was completed they decided to do the bit in the middle that wasn't ... that caused another 18 months of congestion.

The trip from my hometown to here should take about an hour and 20, while that bit in the middle was being upgraded it could take up to 2 and 2 hours 20

It's all a way of State Governments saying they are doing something plus it's a way of keeping people employed and or cash moving around businesses

a baby on board sticker on their rear window ....

The use of which is greatly abused...

Originally thought of by a Norwegian firefighter, the idea was that the sticker should be displayed only when a child was in the car to alert rescue personnel to the fact that a child may need rescue in the event of an incident. A good idea that is spoiled by inconsiderate use.

In the event of collisions - even minor ones - kids can easily fall from seats or beome virtually invisible in the debris of a wrecked vehicle

Leaving them on view all the time - when there is no child in the vehicle - causes a lot of time and effort to be wasted looking for non-existent kids. As well as searching the actual vehicle, the surrounding area also has to be searched in case the child has been thrown or crawled out.

If anyone reading this has such a sticker in their vehicle, please only display it when the kids are travelling...

Aren't stickers glued to a surface? Sounds like a pain to keep removing and reattaching them.

This is why you should always leave your children in the car at all times, even in the summer.

No doubt it is..

It's also a "pain" to be searching through half-burnt wreckage in the middle of the night, in the pouring rain, hoping with all your heart that you aren't going to find what you're looking for... I know - I've done it.

Most of these "Kids in Car" thingys aren't stickers as such.. The things were designed to attach to the back screen with a suction cup - to aid removal when not needed...

I like your idea of leaving the kids in the car all the time though.. removes any ambiguity

Default Co-worker

Fecking lazy, incompetent co-worker spending all the time they can searching for jobs whilst not doing their job, then always, always asking me if they are following the process correctly.

But, if I even suggest or infer they are doing things 'sub-optimality' they shout at me and wave their finger in my face, saying 'don't tell me what to do'.

Lazy, chip on shoulder, incompetent.

Cant wait for them to leave

Left the house today for a total of an hour, just down the local shopping mall,

In the car park, someone sounded their horn, probably for a reason, but it's the idiot who has nothing to do with why the horn was sounded that sounds there and it escalates to another idiot and then before you know it, there's a half dozen clowns scattered around the car park sounding theirs also, just like sheep following each other
