And-as of last night's NZ TV news- Australian sourced strawberries with needles have been found in NZ supermarkets-and so another recall is in progress. These apparently came from a Western Australia supplier-so unclear at present whether linked to the initial Australian outbreak source or a copycat effort....

It was a gag-but yes there are still a few about in NZ-but they tend to be the covered 'lean to' type rather than the classical 'cupcake' illustration seen in books and Constable paintings..
With the current antipathy to all things plastic that is gathering momentum-perhaps we'll see a return to haystacks and twine tied bales-rather than the plastic wrap rolls that are the current default arrangement-though I suspect that such a retrograde change would require new processing machinery... Don't know why these wouldn't insert properly into the post above-but this is typical NZ hay bales as they are done now-covered or uncovered-depending on the farmer's preference-usually done by a contractor, since few farmers want the expense of buying the machinery to only use a few weeks a year... |

'Tis all that matters.
A bit like signs for railways that show only representations of steam trains. What about the gag of the Sake, Hikarufan? |

Man, 4-year-old girl injured as WWII ammunition found on Port Stephens beach explodes
World War II ammunition collected by a man at a Port Stephens beach has exploded and inflicted injuries on him and his four-year-old daughter.
"He's found some unexploded ordnance and taken that home and played with it," Inspector Janson said. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-09-2...beach/10301674 |

Kevin here. it's Autumn in the U.S. now, so it must be spring in aussie land. How I envy you. As it gets colder and colder each week where I live the weather gets warmer and warmer in Australia.
