Oh well, at least it wasn't a total bloodbath like NK Maribor suffered at the hands of Chelesa last night. Bit of an irony that two goals came from Benzema whom we were looking at next January. Defence it sounded was leaking worse than a sieve and Mario did it again, swapping shirts with Pepe at half time and didn't come on second half. I don't want to get on his back but two months in, he just doesn't look like he wants to be on the pitch. Whatever happens if he doesn't start putting in some kind of work ethic his place will be in jeopardy. Disappointing, but not wholly unexpected. Onward to Hull on Saturday.

Mario Balotelli is my favourite Liverpool player of all time.

As a lifelong Man Utd supporter i am not looking forward to the Chelsea game on Sunday.

Within our partially rebuilt team we have some world-class players, both up front and in midfield, sadly we have the 'three Stooges' and a kid in defence.

I expect a comfortable win for Chelsea, 3-1 (at least

)

Hopefully we will actually buy a defender or two in January, but the January transfer window is known to be a difficult window for buying quality players.
So it looks like we will have to limp along with some mixed results until the summer, luckily there is still a substantial amount of cash (150 Million +) left it the Old trafford coffers.

What chance Benzema or any other top striker going to Liverpool in January the way things are going at Anfield? And how much would Liverpool get if they tried selling Balotelli now? The only bright spot for Liverpool is that after being complete rubbish for most of the season they're still in contention for the top four, and will presumably get better at some point.

Everyone is focusing on Liverpool's and Man U's poor start to the season, but what about Arsenal? Maybe they'll be the team to miss out because to me they look worse than last season.

I just heard that Rodgers won't be given any more money to buy players so perhaps all that news was just hype, although we have at least two coming to Liverpool next year-I cannot understand why Lille won't release Origi, I mean what is the point of getting a new player but he won't available until either Christmas or January?? I think Arsenal & Man Utd can only get better, and Man City can still be a threat but I am worried that Liverpool will slip back to their losing ways if we don't learn to close out games and tighten the back four. We miss Sturridge and god knows what will happen if Sterling is ever injured. I fear for this season and indeed the Cup competitions.

Anyone else catch Eric Lamela's goal for Spurs tonight? Extraordinary! the perfect Rabona...catch it if you can - I admit first time, in 'real' time I hadn't realised what he'd done. The rplay showed up this remarkable piece of skill.

Also while on the subject of Spurs, the more I see Harry Kane the more I like him - keep him fit he looks like an England c/f for the future.

Exactly. Some clubs have already seen Utd coming

Vlarr ~ after a decent World Cup, has been 'priced' at £12 million by villa.

For a 29/30 year old {?} - who has been injured for huge periods of this and last season and has only 6 months left on his contract.... you have to laugh.
