Its a tough one. Europa League football is still European football and there is now the carrot of CL football for the winner. On the other hand Thursdays to far flung places and then playing on a Sun or Mon is not great. Spurs are in a decent position at the moment PL wise. Sitting 5th is not a bad place to be as the pressure is slightly off but they are in striking distance if the others slip up. EL football could screw that up as it has tended to do for other teams.

I think if I was a Spurs fan I would write this European campaign off and hope they finished bottom. It sounds bad to say it but that way you play less games, less injuries, less fatigue and can concentrate on the PL. A top 4 finish again is a must to show that last season was not a fluke. Its also a must if they want to keep their best players and as important, their manager.

If Spurs want to kick on and become regular CL qualifiers and campaigners, we must learn how to play on two fronts. To do that, we need the experience of doing so, even if that means playing in the EuroNumpty League.

Wow what a game between Bournemouth and Liverpool. Not the result many would have expected and I suspect may have screwed a few betting slips up this weekend.

Bournemouth 4 Liverpool 3.

Liverpool were 3-1 up with 15 minutes to go. Lack of moral fibre? No team that throws away 2 goal leads to average teams is going to win the league.

Karius was useless. The defence was useless. Liverpool really need to concentrate on bringing in good defenders if they are ever going to win anything.

Well done Bournemouth. They never gave up and when they got the second goal they smelled blood and knew Liverpool didn't have what it takes to keep them out.

Threw it away! It was Crystal Palace all over again when Liverpool looked to be cruising and then we gave away silly free kicks-today it was a silly penalty and then we seemed to go to sleep and no wonder Bournemouth took advantage. Still 15 games unbeaten wasn't bad AND more goals than any other team, but at this precise moment the idea of a title win is a long way off. Sumptuous second goal from Origi, a definite contender for Goal of the Month and Chan's shot was sublime.

Teams win the title by digging out a result when key players are missing or they are out of form, something Liverpool used to be good at.
The Pensioners on the other hand appear to be digging themselves out of hole on a regular basis.

We visit Anfield next Sunday, if you cannot add significantly to your goal difference, then you can forget winning the league.

I think if the Liverpoolers keep on improving at this rate they could finish as high as seventh or eighth.
