I felt that way initially george ~ most especially because I can remember the Belles from years back, when their singing and drinking and being Laddettes went hand in hand with the success they had and the upset they caused a certain Arsenal Lady Captain. But back then it was publicity and interest raised in Ladies Footie.

Now we have Man City and Chelsea buying up every "star" ~ Blues Ladies lost half a team to them in just six weeks last autumn ~ becaise they had been in the Continental Cup, had chased Liverpool for the title all season ~ all on a shoestring.

Bingo ~ The Premier big Spenders arrive in Ladies football.

I felt that way, very angry ~ but I was swayed by the reasons given for the Belles' demotion to League 2.
All clubs had to meet certain criteria, to justify inclusion.
Conference upwards/downwards in Men's footie.

The Belles had become 3rd choice access to their pitch, after Rugger had interceeded. Game dates could not be guaranteed and another reason which seemed plausible, but I forget ~ {as I look at the clock and try to remember where I was taking Mrs Menei at the time on my Post-It}

Anyway, I can't see how Man City replaced the Belles ~ why them?
I can see the Belles failing to meet standards required, but cannot see how Man City jumped the queue to the Top Division.

I've got Altzheimers ~ my partner told me ~ I think

Not just Arsenal though. There is a pundit/media war building up in the UK around Hodgson v Rodgers training philosophies.
With the two-day post match lower level training that Rodgers supports, and the high impact constant training that Hodgson supports.

I can see both sides to this, but now we've seen ex-team mates openly admitting that Michael Owen got burnt-out between expectations and demands from both country and club...I'm a bit worried.

If ALL the World Cup Finals can be played in one month,

~ why not 2 lots of 3-week suspended domestic leagues and we could see all of the blinking qualifications done and dusted over 2 seasons.
10 or 12 matches over a 24 month period but in just 2 tranches.
That way players don't have to go home after a few days away, then come back a month later....and then come back another month later...then come back 4 months later etc etc.
Footie junkies would have their fix of a mini-International glut ~ whilst their Top Domestic Leagues are on hold ~ and we would have better care for the players and perhaps less disparity in training regimes and club v country controversy.

I've got altzheimers I think

I think Hodgson is going to lose the debate on Rodgers preferred method resting speedsters for 2 days after a match

Lets see he makes Sturridge sprint within the 2 days and he gets injured - 3/4 weeks out

Looks pretty scientifc to me - your way doesnt work WOY

The comment about Germans players dont do it and havent suffered
- wonderful but Sturridge isnt German.

See the point - you treat each player as per how their club treats them
If they rest 2 days after a match then so be it

The next time your whining about injured players we'll know you didnt listen AGAIN.

Hodgson reminds me of Moyes - they have their own ways but their too stubborn to admit
that somebody else knew the player better when things have gone arry
- hiding behind no scientific data is just utter crap

A club manager who has trained daily with his players for several years knows better than any scientific data what keeps them on the field - you dont have players going the entire season without learning that....experience versus the survey..I know which i prefer.

Moyes reduced Van Persie - who has always been injury proned
from an an injury free EPL trophy winning season to a bit part player because of injury but training didnt cause that - it must have been his midnight sprints.

The qualification games are pure marketing to stay in the headlines and generate revenue
nothing else so that will never change regardless of club v country

Whether we like it or not the smaller countries probably think of an England coming as a big event
where they can make a name for themselves which for the game isnt a bad thing.

From the other side its - nothing to win but plenty to lose - grilling by the media

All tournaments could easily pick the teams they want to compete
or have small qualifying groups with the minnows removed
like they did back in the 70s but the lesser countries would never get a look in so the sport probably woudnt expand..where as if their involved their more likely to invest in infrastructure to make them more competitive...its what makes football the world game.

England,Wales & Poland home and way - real matches around 73/74 from memory

England lost eventually to the the Poles who were a class act then and finished 4th

De boer saying Hiddink is passed it because of Hollands 2-0 to iceland is a bit rich

Euro 2012 Holland were a lame duck defensively and lost all 3 group games

LVG takes Holland to the last 4 WC 2014

2 losses in 3 games against the group leaders
Czech & Iceland (Swanseas Siggurdson in a rich vein of form 4 goals in 3 matches)

Says world cup hangover to me - Robben & RVP could have scored making it 2-2
Expect they'll come to life in the not too distant future

Hiddink will have a chuckle at De Boer the commentator no doubt given his record
- thats what 67 year olds who are called passed it do

Mr De Boer might want to look to the recent Bayern Munich manager who won the treble
aged 69 - experience is never passed it,if the youngsters listen...lol

Still hard to believe they removed him against his will - the next season they didnt win Europe
even with one of the best young credentialled managers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupp_Heynckes

Its a good thing Koeman didnt get the job ahead of him as
Southampton would not be riding so high

Ahem! Slight embarrassment here. I mentioned ITV's appalling commentary team last time and said Tony Cascarino, when I should have said Andy Townsend...DOH!! apologies for confusion.

You've hit nail on the head. It's not that one training regime is necessarily better than another, it's what a player is used to, and what his body is used to. That seems simple common sense, so it's mystifying that the England trainers chose to ignore it.

Maybe clubs should send a trainer along to these sessions to advise on individual training.

Far too simple for the money men who run football, plus the tills would be quite for the best part of ten months.

Why let football interfere with filling the vaults.

England manager Roy Hodgson has made himself look stupid,
according to former Wales assistant coach Raymond Verheijen.

The Dutchman was highly critical of Hodgson after he declared: "I don't think there is a lot of medical evidence to support the 'two-day recovery'."

"England manager Roy Hodgson once again made himself look extremely stupid. He is the perfect example of a typical uneducated English coach," Verheijen, who has also worked with Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Holland, wrote on Twitter.

"Embarrassing to see dinosaur Hodgson questioning the fitness regime of the forward thinking manager Brendan Rodgers.

Australia. 0 goals against the might of UAE and Qatar! All this after we were promised a more ambitious style of play.

This is a joke folks ~~ and a question

Which country would win the World Cup ~ or any Inter-Nations Trophy...if...

The National Team entered could include ANY player who was registered and played in that Country for...say 12-18 months..prior to qualifiers?
But was of a different Nationality?

I know, it would be an Inter-League Competition, and they've failed in the past ~~~ but, for an aside ~~ which Country {League} do you think would win? I think it would be a European walkover. Because of the money angle.

Just trying to think of how England might win something....
