On TV he was basically doing the same thing as Ronnie Barker,
but while Ronnie was lionized by society and honours heaped upon him
.. poor old Benny got labelled a dirty old man... and all the new
smarmy comics began to denigrate him.

But his life did end up a bit seedy, Ive read of two of hills angels
who used to masturbate him ( prob a good career move !)
Steph Marian and Cherri Gilham ....
and maybe a few more, who knows ?

I might be wrong about this but was Fiona Cooper girl Lynne 1158 a Benny Hill girl in the 80's?

She was in something I had on VHS called Scandelous Studio Tales, and sometime after I saw some stills of a Benny Hill Sketch and it looked like the same girl.

It's close to the end of the Hill's Angels segment. A man snaps his fiingers and Sue Upton and Lisa Maxwell form themselves into a motorbike, he "mounts" his motorbike, pulls the headlight on the front of Sue Uptons helmet down, and rides off.

does any 1 rember the program about his missing money it featured some of the girls talking about pleaseing him dont now if the video is still around they did 3 or 4 programs 1 of the others was diania doors

Hello, the show was called "Who Got Benny's Millions?" from 2002. I would lov to see the program again myself. We will have to keep our eyes peeled for it online somewhere.

I've seen it: it's rubbish. Don't waste your time.

Sue was on that show. Later, she said to me about it, "When the lady came to interview me, actually at my home, she was at my home for about five hours - and that whole interview took place on my early childhood, and growing up, and how I got started on Benny's show, etc. It never, ever led to Benny's millions and what happened to his money. And a couple of times, these questions came about, and the interviewer kept referring back to the same questions. And I never realized at the time that all the questions were to do with his money - so, obviously, I was completely unaware of what this program was going to be about. If I had have known, I would never have taken part. [...] I was totally disgusted by the content of some of the questions that were asked of the girls on the show, and I'm very sad to have been part of such a horrible program about Benny."

That reminds me: The Benny Hill Show is now slated to return to American television, effective New Years Day, courtesy of "Antenna TV," a new digital subchannel by Tribune Broadcasting, out of Chicago.

When I last saw Sue, this time last year, she said that Benny's Aussie heirs (who control the copyright to the Benny Hill Show scripts) were actually blocking the shows from being repeated - and therefore neither she, nor any of the other surviving performers, could earn any more repeat fees.

I think since then, Benny's Aussie relatives must have spent all the money they inherited from him, come to their senses, and realized that unless the shows were repeated, they wouldn't make any more money, either. "Crikey! We want to trouser some more dosh, too!"
