I want you to know that Halloween (or "festival" of all the saints) in my country is the worst and most boring of the festivals celebrated (which are many) ... Oh yes, of course... That if used as an excuse to drink and eat to excess ...

I love Horror films and gruesome objects so do actually like Halloween . But only the version i have seen over in America. You know with the wide spaced houses , perfect lawns and tidy trees . The carved pumpkin heads all a glow, and excited but well mannered fancy dressed up children accompanied by parents or friends of parents as they go to their neighbours doors .

Over here i feel the thing is completely out of place ,as we just don`t have that community mentality .

I mean watching a gang of noisy kids all wearing various cheap joke shop masks ; going down the street banging on complete strangers terrace houses demanding money (That`s what a lot of the tiny bleeders prefer ) with menaces is hardly something i call festive or celebratory

Although it is good experience for their future careers i guess

Here in the UK, I believe it is Haloween on 31st October , then All Saints Day on November 1st..,
I could be wrong.., I have been before

Both my sisters' are nutty for halloween, but then one works in a funeral parlour & the other will celebrate Haloween with a bigger party than she lays on for Christmas(probably a better idea too )

Halloween is All Hallows eve,the 1st is All Hallows day,Hallow is another word for saint,Of course the festival began as the Celtic Samhain, when the world of the living was closest to the world of the dead.

I'm sorry. Dates are the same here, but the only celebration is the October 31 night (you know... the "castanyada"). In Nov.1 (all saints) the only act who make people is to go at the cemetery to change the flowers they put last year.

Salut !
