An American actress, Brenda was born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri on February 25, 1917 and she died at the age of 92 on July 4, 2009 in a nursing home due to complications from pneumonia.

Brenda appeared in a number of B-movies but was best known for succeeding Maureen O'Sullivan in the role of Jane in the Tarzan adventure films, being the seventh actress to play that role. She appeared in 5 Tarzan films, and being quite displeased with her work in the films she retired from acting in 1949. She was also the first "Jane" to play opposite to two different Tarzans -- Johnny Weismuller and then in her final film in 1949 with Lex Baxter who took over the Tarzan role after Weismuller moved on.
