It's best to use AdBlock for Firefox. Free download from Mozilla's Add-on site.

Here's a similar extension for IE. Can't vouch for it, though.

Every modern browser has built-in settings for pop-up windows.

There's an Adblock plugin variant for Opera too.

For Firefox I also recommend NoScript plugin. This, teamed with AdBlock Plus should keep most stuff away.

Block unwanted parasites with a Hosts File

Just put the hosts in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC (or use the *.bat file in the zip from the page above to do this)

That basically stops all these unwanted popups in general.

Btw. as far as I know there's a tracking-protection under Add-ons in IE (IE 9 an above) where you can simply load the easylist from adblock plus... So no need to pay for any adblocking. Maybe you should consider upgrading your browser

Now open IE and visit http://easylist.adblockplus.org/en and then simply click on "Add EasyPrivacy Tracking Protection list to Internet Explorer 9 and higher" and all set.

Cheers,

J4ZZ

In addition to NoScript and AdBlockPlus for FireFox, you can get an add-on called killjasmin although it's called something else these days. Google finds it easily enough.

What about something for Chrome?
It's really annoying when you tell the browser to block a site, then you still get a pop-up telling you "Chrome has blocked this site" - or - a slight change in jasmine's address, and you have to create yet another block.
There's got to be a better way....

I've copied and pasted this from one of my other posts but it's equally valid for you.

I suggest you download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which is free, completely safe and highly recommended on VEF as well as elsewhere.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/

When you install it, untick the box to install the Chrome browser. After installation, it will prompt you to update it so do that. Then run a quick scan which should take between 2 and 10 minutes depending on operating system version. If it finds anything, run a full scan which will take between 30 and 60 minutes to do.
