As far as it concerns V.E.F (and probably all other vBulletin forums):

It doesn't work on all kinds of links, e.g. it doesn't works on "showthread" links:

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...6922#post46922

But it always worked and works (for me) on page links:

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t35...ttie-page.html

May also be a matter of the version of IHG you use. IIRC it once doesn't worked on the "thread link":

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t3541-bettie-page.html

But this works also for me now

I experienced this last night as well. This is the Imagevenue "image" file that's associated with the original report to Norton, which attempts to install a suspicious downloader-type file onto the target PC. The image is not saveable, as the user clicking on the link would eventually find out, and the damage is done:

(I screencapped the image off the browser after my Norton blocked the attack).

Here's what my Norton Internet Security gave me for details on the file after the attack was blocked:

Take a look on the other side.

Norton is the one with evil intention.

I'm using AVG and getting no warnings about ImageVenue.

Update: Just done two scans of my computer and its not found nor quarantined anything so it seems to me that something attacked it-I assume that they will do something about it within the next days or so.

well im using avg and noscript and im not getting any warnings

so its norton sticking its nose in just like normal .....rant on .....
it completly takes over your system, slows it down a good 25% .... good luck removing it completly ..... you actually need norton removal tool to get rid of this pile of dog doodoo for many versions.
sorry to come all negative but time and time again i have had to remove norton from many pc's due to the performance hit it can have ... replaced with avg and system boots quicker and is much more responcive.

Funny, I've never had any of the issues you're talking about. I'd rather have some form of protection on my PC than nothing. To each their own. And no, this is not going to be a "I'm a big Norton-fanboy blah blah blah" defense post, but clearly you didn't like your Norton experience so that's that.

And for the non-Norton users, have you tried going to the image location on the Norton warning page that Greenman posted in his original message? Because if you try saving the image file that is stored on Imagevenue, you'll find that it doesn't allow you to (at which point my Norton software kicks in and blocks a Downloader attack), which should make you suspicious.

Yeah, I think so too. I just ignore the warning now
