ebay browsing [moved]

Does anyone know of an ebay plugin (or similar) that allows for advanced browsing options?

One particular pet peeve of mine is that ebay does not really support the exclusion of certain sellers (except in an advanced search, but that is a pain to use by hand) when browsing. For me, this is not so much about excluding sellers I had bad experiences with, but excluding those but that put heaps of unwanted (and usually misplaced) wares in my favourite stomping grounds.

ebay plugins are typically about sniping, but then they might have advanced browsing as well.

I keep a text file that has the names of the people I do not do business with. Whether it be because they do not sell the right item or I find them less than reputable. I update my advanced search when I start finding a ton of garbage again. Past that I really cant help you.

Tried it. Does not work that well - I tried to exclude "Nuts" from my search results, but that feature did not work.

This may have something to do how ebay constantly changes the way their searches/browsing work - probably quite intentionally to keep ebay in control in how the site is browsed/searched.

I can tell you what doesn't work........
writing a message to an idiot selling porn on DVD's that he's got off the
net, listed under Laserdiscs in the adult section. I sympathize with ya
beutelwolf. It's a pain in the azz to shop for something specific when
the path is littered with pure horse manure. I guess the guy is making
Ebay some money, because I got no response at all in my complaint to Ebay.

I think we need to remember there are a ton of thieves on FleaBay. I almost never buy DVD's there because they are normally bootlegs. Many sellers have multiple accounts that they use to pad bidding as well. As long as they make their monthly payments to the service it will do little too them. I recently bought my wife some lingerie. The seller sent me random crap that I didn't order. I opened a claim stating I wanted the item I ordered I was refunded, no explanation from FleaBay no apology from the seller. I am still waiting for one of the items I won from this person and I am betting it will come in wrong if at all. Just remember if you get bad service on Fleabay make sure you file claims against them and make sure you leave negative feedback even though Fleabay asks you not to.

I've never been told or asked to refrain from negative feedback by Ebay.
The seller in question however is another story. !st they're the angry
retort, the their lame explanation, then the begging to change the feedback
score, then ultimately when it's not changed, a lame attempt to reply to the
negative feedback itself. Ebay and Paypal, side with the buyer an unfair
majority of the time. What I mean by that, is that more sellers get screwed
by buyers than vice versa. You bet there's some downright thieves on Ebay,
but most there deal fairly in my opinion. Over the years, and probably 100
or more purchases from Ebay, I've asked and received refunds on I think
3 items......with only one having to be enforced by Ebay, which they did
rather quickly. No dvd I've ever bought, was bootlegged, although I can
spot a bootlegged dvd when I see the auction pretty easily too, but I don't
see too many. Ioffer on the other hand, sells nothing but bootlegged DVD's,
mostly I suspect, coming from sites like VEF and similar others. In fact......
I've actually bought a dvd from Ioffer, of an exact video that I'd posted
right here at VEF, from which that DVD he was selling was made.

One has to learn, often times the hard way, thru experience, who to avoid
and who to trust on auction sites. ....not so different than dealing with
people in business in every day life.
The post you quoted tho, was in reference only to those on there that
were allowed to place their auctions in sections that didn't fit what they
were selling.
