Atheists do not have to prove that a god or gods do not exist, they just do not believe such exist. In effect they assert that there is insufficient evidence to justify belief in most religions god constructs. Which in their minds throws the burden of proof on those who assert the existence of such an entity.

As for love, if it were one thing rather than many, define it carefully enough and I'm sure its existence could be proven.

Yes, your argument is a flawed premise. We don't have to prove the lack of God, you have to prove there is a God. Your assertion is the same as saying 'Unless you can prove there are no palm trees in Antarctica, there are palm trees in Antarctica.' and then claiming the palm trees are there, just not where we looked.

I'm definitely an Atheist (but please don't tell my Filipina wife). The Bible for instance, you hear all these experts saying this Gospel was written by Paul or Luke about Jesus's life. Then you hear them say that this passage was written 100 or 200 years after Jesus had lived. Can anyone tell me stories about family members a 100 or 200 years ago... Then apparently early Catholic leaders edited the Bible and threw out stuff they didn't agree with and added passages to make it sound better. Only people who knew Latin could read it until John Wycliffe, Henry the 8th and King James translated it. Now there's a whole lot of theologians who all disagree with the translation. So you've got a book written years after the supposed son of God lived. Edited and re-written again by people who weren't there. Then translated 3 different times into English and according to scholars wrong. If you disagreed in the past you were burnt at the stake and in Galileo's circumstance when you prove the Earth isn't the centre of the universe you're put under house arrest.. The Bible doesn't mention the fact that there was Dinosaurs.. The Church and all churches are just another form of government controlling you and living off your earnings while they touch up your kid's..... If there is a god and you live a good life. Do good to other's and he doesn't let you to heaven when you die because you didn't go to church.... What sort of arsehole would he be?????

Oh the irony !

Besides, Galileo was not an atheist. He was a devout christian, just like Newton or Heisenberg. Darwin and Einstein were agnostics, because they regarded atheism as a simple-minded view of the world.
