British actor Peter Miles of Doctor Who and Z Cars fame has passed away.
When he wasn't acting, he was an accomplished jazz and soul singer. Last edited by ball7; February 27th, 2018 at 06:47 PM.. |

Creepy as hell in Dr. Who. Slimy as hell in an episode of Survivors. A very distinctive voice. I'm usually annoyed when an actor is tied to Dr. Who in their obit. This time it's fitting.

He loved the Dr. Who fandom and often guested conventions - and besides he managed to steal so many scenes in Genesis of the Daleks.

Sir Roger Bannister: First man to run a mile in under four minutes dies at 88
Sir Roger Bannister, the first man to run a mile in under four minutes, has died at the age of 88. His time of three minutes 59.4 seconds, set at Iffley Road sports ground in Oxford on 6 May 1954, stood as a record for just 46 days but his place in athletics history was assured. Bannister also won gold over the same distance at the 1954 Commonwealth Games and later became a leading neurologist. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2011. Details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/43273249 A genuine sporting legend. RIP
