Goal less at the half and Hart has been little more than a spectator, just wondering why I get the feeling the only thing he will do is pick the ball out of the onion bag. Pope at the other end has kept Burnley in the game, if I am Burnley lad I'll be praying Southgate does not come calling as it is normally the kiss of death for keepers.

Not there, watching on line. Frustrations boiled over and a few just lost it and ran onto the pitch and I am surprised its not happened earlier, not condoning it as you should never enter the field of play with a game in progress. When fans eventually turned on those in the directors box they up and left leaving one sat alone, Sir Trevor Brooking who looked a sad lonely figure and I am sure he was hurting, but stayed until the end, the fans chanting his name probably helped.

Cannot help but think we are a mirror image of Birmingham when the three were in charge of them.

Lost a game we should have won, thankfully its not been a good day for the rest of the strugglers.

If Joe Hart is in goal at the World Cup cannot help but think we will not get out of the group. WHU you just forget him and stick with Adrian.

Not wanting to unduly disturb anyone, but is Ashley Young now arguably the best English fullback?

I thought England only had fast wingers who cant cross that pretend to be fullbacks

Judging by their record at recent International tournaments it wouldnt be hard to be their best

Danny Rose has to be the default choice for left-back in Russia, but there are lots of options for his understudy. Luke Shaw and Ryan Bertrand would be natural like-for-like alternates, whereas Ashley Young and Ryan Sessegnon offer more squad flexibility by being perfectly capable in a left midfield or left wing role as well.

If Southgate and the FA consider Russia 2018 to be a staging post on the journey to Qatar 2022, I think he should take Sessegnon as back-up left-back. But if they're under the delusion that we have a real chance this year, Ashley Young would be the better pick.

Alternatively, take both of them as general left side back-ups.

I don't think he should even be in the 23 but i think we can be certain he'll start. He's a joke but southgate isn't brave enough to boot him out otherwise we'd have seen the others given more games by now. They've barely had more than a half here and there.

Four years ago it was Tom Huddlestone. Two years ago it was Mark Noble. In the next couple of months which average English player will the commentators suddenly suggest should maybe have a chance of going to a tournament with England. Jokes about current England players are too obvious. So behave.

And I know Huddlestone had been capped.
