Here's another cover that jumped right off the shelf into my sweaty palms, I've always liked Madonna and this image (photoshopped for sure) is mega-hot! The image is of the Italian version which I think is more erotic than the UK version because it shows her boots entirely:

Magazine covers were of course extremely important for all of us who came of age pornograhically when printed media had its heyday. There are so many incredible front covers out there it's almost impossible to choose any favourites.

As I progressed from softcore/glamour (Mayfair, MenOnly etc) mags via Penthouse and Hustler to real harcore there was one publication that clearly led the way for me into the realms of h/c; Private! The excitement of buying real porno mags was so thrilling and seeing the 100th issue of said publication on the shelf that day in early -91 just shook me to tho the core

The steaming sexual intensity of the spermy facial climax over Anna Rodriguez’ face and her pleading mouth....oh my, it was just oozing with lust - it seemed to threaten my 20-year old self with something dark and forbidding that nevertheless beckoned me to follow. Sure, for a poor student it was expensive but I just had to have it and I bought it on the spot!

And that first experience of that issue still lingers in my wanking memory: rushing home with my newly acquired treasure to masturbate. Moaning and panting as loudly as I could for the first as I couldn’t believe my eyes at all the mouth watering, high class photography of girls doing, at least for me at the time, almost unspeakable things. I must have returned to that mag at least a hundred times and it surely deserves an in-depth review in itself. But that cover....wow, it is still as arousing as it was back then!

I've been catching up on this thread as a friend here reminded me of it.

Being a young lad in the 1970's and 80's I used to love looking up at the top shelf and imagining what was inside those magazines with the beautiful girls on the covers. I had seen some porn that my Dad had and I wanted to see more! (I did very soon when I figured out my older brother was old enough to buy them).

My Dad noticed me looking up at them in a newsagent one time and made a jokey comment about it to my Mum but nothing was ever said to me.

I absolutely loved those magazine covers back then and it's always a joy finding them on here and remembering looking at those magazines back then.

Here is a cover that brings back great memories for me.

I've told the story elsewhere here before but one year my brother came home from a trip to America and as I chatted to him while he unpacked his case he handed me two magazines he had bought home with him and said "I know you've been looking at my magazines, you'll like these".

I was about 18 or 19 then and had started to get my own as soon as I could of course (which he had also been looking at) and imagine my joy at seeing the contents of this which were a bit more explicit than the issues of Club, Men Only etc..... that I had been used to.

After this we started sharing magazines and got two magazines each month, all different of course, so we had a good collection to share. This lead to a lot of good times for the next thirty years.

Another cover that amuses me whenever I see it is this one.....

Men's World was one of my favourite magazines and I would get it each month. This issue came out while I was visiting relatives in Canada for a month with my Mum.
My brother got this one while I was away and when I got back he told me how our Dad had asked him if he had any magazines he could look at while me and Mum were away!

I was amazed at this and this issue stayed in his bedside cupboard for a very long time.
My Dad, who got on better with me than my brother, never mentioned anything like this to me but apparently they had a little chat about it, he borrowed some of my brothers stash and it was never mentioned again.

I thought I'd add another contribution to this thread. It's a magazine that features in several other threads, but I always remember it from my early mag-buying days.

My first Mayfair was Vol 24 No 2, and after that, I'd been on the lookout for each new issue of the mag. When I saw this cover a few months later, buying my paper at my regular city centre newsagents, I was pretty much blown away.

I've always liked girls in uniform, and wanted this mag, but I was really nervous about being labelled a 'paedo' if I took this issue up to the counter with my £1.75.

So in the end, I didn't actually buy it.

Many years later, I found this issue on VEF, and now have my own copy.

I think the Mayfair team must have been a bit wary themselves, because 'Susie Rushmore' is described in the mag as 'our unstarchy student teacher', and not, say, a schoolgirl or sixth-former. I bet there was some editorial discussion about that.

Of course, in reality Mayfair models were 18 or over (and apparently, at least once when a model was not, the mag was pulled from sale).

And in my humble opinion, Ulf Stjernbo certainly provided us with a gorgeous photoshoot. I've enjoyed it many times.
